Lets be real. That mode was mad fun, but noone's going to play it standalone. Having a way to make a decent amount of income from a fun pvp game mode was great.

Every playstyle should have a viable money making method. Right now pvp just doesnt. Shadow arena gave us a way to make a decent amount of money while enjoying the part of bdo we love. Another alternative would be to increase the money earned from RBF. Even 300m an hour and I'd live inside rbf, which is way less than literally grinding tuvala able spots.

I doubt it will happen, but yeah it was some fun memories, be it from the initial IG version or the following standalone game, I spent quite some time on them!

I mean it was kinda fun, but it was way to much money/time you could get there and so cheaters did ruin it soon enough. Maybe if it has same rewards like RBF it wouldn't be to bad to bring it back. I just find the whole concept stage to make a game in a game that is slightly different than the real one and use it to generate money for the "real" game. 

would be more fun to bring it back but with equalized gear and full skill kits rather than the rng mox of gear and skill you got there before.

no need for equalized gear cause the fun part was that you start at 0 and keep killing monsters to collect chests to get more gears. Another fun thing was your enemy target couldn't see you HP bar so the pressure was actually very high and everyone had limited skills. Playing around with pre-awak skills.

Game mode was hella fun but coding was bad. instead of trying to fix the game mode from hackers, PA just wanted to remove the entire game mode but Shadow Arena was too popular & fun. The main reason BDO had +10 million active players those days was cause tons of players came just to play shadow arena while also having fun in BDO world (my pov).

Soon after game becames infected by kids who couldn't gear-up themselves and didn't knew which skill was SA/FG or iframe and for how long so... BDO became 50 times more easier just... for... them. Achievement ment something that time, reaching 540GS & 600GS was a big thing. Grinding 40m/h in Gahaz Bandit to get TET: dandy which used to cost 3 bill that time... it was fun cause, everything ment something but now... i get 800m/h, 10hr grind and i get PEN:Dandy.

If Shadow Arena was this great and attracted so many players, why did the standalone version fail?

And if you don't know, they released Shadow Arena as standalone game after they removed it from BDO. But the average player counter droped rapidly (After less then 1 year they had a peek player count of less then 50). so they closed it after 2 years.
Released: May 2020. Average player count January 2021: 33.5.  Closed: August 2022.

So why did so many players in BDO played it? Because they wanted the rewards they got for BDO!
