Calamity pop-ups were fine, they were when there region firsts happened.  That spam stopped after the first week.  I think there are only 2 or 3 Calamity 7s that haven't been done that might still pop up eventually.  Then we'll get the Calamity 8-10 eventually.

Now what the OP mentioned.

The sad part is this is basically just every time an RBF starts.  Yeah there is no need for a notification when the Papu v Otter RBF starts up, unlike the Island one that starts up only once every several hours.  There is a reason for that notification, it doesn't need to be as big but there is a reason for it.

You probably have very low standards, but you're right - I should not even begin to play this game in the first place, if I knew I will be treated like this. I dont want and dont need to 'get over' anything because it happens on regular basis. All I want is to play the game in a manner I decide myself, without Big Brother telling me what I should do at this moment. I want my screen clear of any, any notifications, except those I explicitly requested.

I really like Papu v Otter if only they fixed the issues that plagued the game like infinite death and the lack of balance when players join. You can fight as a team of full healers or a team of no healers. It's a make or break problem. There was also no incentives this year so nobody wants to play it. So as much as I want to say it's a fun event, it's not and those notifications are tiresome since nobody will join. :(

There appears to be a misunderstanding here that the notifications are associated with the RBF - they aren't.  The notifications are for the sandcastle battles that occur in the open Terrmian area.  The ones that you use the transformation scrolls for.

As for the RBF: you can get a little silver, the usual RBF exp, the usual RBF seals.  All of that with equalized "gear" / skills.  Clearly the teams are unbalanced, and there are some other bugs from last year that haven't been fixed.  But it's a low effort way to get some RBF stuff from a different approach.

As for the event overall, it was added last minute because a lot of people apparently asked why there wasn't one this year, and the response of "there will be an underwater palace event instead" was not satisfactory.  So PA just used last year's content, minus a lot of the extra details, to make it a low key thing.  The notifications should have been one of the things suppressed / suppressable.

It was nice of them to put in the auction again, but that's for a limited audience.  And the shops were nice, without the restrictions from the prior year.  And the sandcastle battles allow people to get their transformation scrolls with minimal effort if they missed them last year and care at all.  

But mostly it's a non-event.  It doesn't merit those notifications.  It's like people are being punished for asking for this.  "You wanted the event? We'll give you the event. Sort of.  And with the spam too."

Then again, it's over in a few hours.  Eh, with all the other big changes in the pipe, this is a very small concern.

Starting to suspect they got a thing for popups... Every single new thing has HUGE popups, and not just that, but also added sound. It's super annoying and I really don't see the point, other than annyoing their playerbase/customers. 

There's literally a popup for EVERYTHING in this game. Guild mates enhancement info, the stuff the workers find, event this event that, boss here and boss there, reset reward that takes up your entire freaking screen, the freaking pearl shop shit that you get after every reset down in your right corner, golden bell, items from grinding/gathering/etc... Like most of these are soooo useless and just bothersome but with no way to disable.

I really hope that they change this asap. There's been times where I just log out of the game for a while to take a break from all these popups. It's turning people away from the game, which means less money for P.A. So i really don't understand what the heck they are doing

Not exacly rage fit, but I'll just wait untile it's over, soon I hope. I will just sit in my residence cooking stuff, or processing at storage keeper while minimizing the game for an hour while buff scroll lasts.

Thats how 'engaging' your 'events' are, people hiding in their residence from it. This enforced entertainment is a road to nowhere. People minimize the game and dont even want to be in, but things must be done and that 50k pile of iron ore aint gonna process itself. Its a shame how this company disrespects its players and customers by constantly covering my screen with popup information I never requested and cannot get rid of on permanent basis, disrupting my dairy cow milking or any other activites, constantly reminding me that somewhere something is happening and they assume I should drop all I was doing and do that instead because hey some rhino king appeared or whale surafced. I play this game for 2+ years and I already tried almost everything and I made my mind what I like and what not, Hunting is what I do not like, I will never hunt, why shove that rhino king popup into my face? I will never do sailing content because I described here:

These popups are technically useless, because if I'm far away and world boss appears - there is very insignificantly small chance I can rush fast enough to participate in the kill.

Same regarding 'rare' item drop. On season char I grind so fast I pop tuvala ore and time-something stones so fast that popups literally permanently cover my screen blocking my view. Very good quality of life indeed you proud so much.

Popups are useless and annoying and must be disable-able at very least.
