You should splurge and add american voice actors we can apply to our characters like Steve Blum, Wendee Lee, John Beau, Marc Diraison, Christopher Sabat, to name a few. I'm not asking to replace all the current voices, just to add ones we americans know and love. Would be really cool.

Cause yes,  USA voice actor are insanly expensive for nothing. And not only is it expensive to rent, but in addition Pearls Abyss will have to pay Licences rights every year to be able to keep these voices in-game...


I hate dubbing. I always prefer the voices of the studio's home country.  there is no such thing as good quality dubbing.

That would be a great addition, but like Catastigma said, it would be expensive. I for one would just content myself if they just enable all voices frome same gender too each class.

They already used American voice actors for at least some of (and probably all of) the NPCs with voices in English. If you pay attention, you should be able to recognize a number of them - including Wendee Lee. And based on the voices I recognize, I'd guess that they used one of the dubbing studios in CA, which is what most video games do. So, they already did that part of your request.

Now, as for them adding a voice to the player character, why? The player character has no dialogue, and it works just fine that way. I don't see how having your character saying anything would add anything - especially when most players don't care about the dialogue anyway. LOL. Most of my guild members make fun of me for actually reading the dialogue. And while I'm not at all into role playing and generally couldn't care less about it, some people are very much into it, and I expect that they'd hate to have their characters be given voices. It would be forcing a voice and personality on what is mostly a blank slate right now. There are definitely games that work well with voiced protagonists, but there are also plenty that work just as well - if not better - with an unvoiced protagonist. And changing it so that BDO has a voiced protagonist would be a huge change that would likely cost PA a fair bit of time and money to implement - time and money that I definitely think would be better spent elsewhere.

Having some American VAs provide the vocal sound effects for your character (such as their attacks or laugh) would probably be nice, since the voices provided are clearly Asian, but ultimately, does it really matter? Usually, the only vocal effect you hear anyway is your character yelling when you attack, and that's probably the hardest vocal effect to recognize as not being made by an English speaker. It also mostly just becomes background noise as you play the game.

I do think that it would be great if more of the NPC lines were voiced, and we had more cut scenes in the story, and that would obviously require more voice acting, but I don't think that PA should fundamentally be changing how they handle voices in this game, and adding a voiced protagonist would be an enormous change.
