New PvPvE concept: borrow ESS idea from PA's other game EVE Online

Suggestions/Comments: I recently took some time to play EVE Online, a sandbox pvp game that is also owned by Pearl Abyss. One concept in EVE really fascinated me: the ESS bank. Encounter Surveillance System - EVE University Wiki

Let me describe it very briefly: players will do their PvE grind in an area, and a small percentage of their earnings will be witheld in a local "bank." The bank will track everyone's contributions, and then every few hours it will payout people's earnings according to their contributions during the period. However, the bank is an actual location in each local area, and there is a way for hostile outsider players to attempt to rob a bank. A robbery attempt will alert everyone in the area, and will take some time to complete, but it is potentially lucrative for the robbers if it succeeds! Furthermore, not just anyone can initiate a robbery - it requires a key acquired elsewhere in the game. The concept of keys prevents unending robbery sequences.

You can imagine how this typically plays out. A group of friendly players will all be grinding PvE in an area, essentially on their own, but ready to unite to help defend their bank should the need arise. Groups of opportunistic players will roam the world looking for vulnerable banks and try to get in and out with a successful robbery. This causes an "objective style" gameplay to occur organically, in which players will want to attack or defend the bank.

Since the bank only holds a portion of player earnings, a bank robbery isn't ruinous to the grinders - it is unfortunate and you'd of course attempt to prevent a robbery, but it isn't the end of the world. Still, it is YOUR bank so you are of course motivated to protect it should it come undr threat.

Of course, EVE online has a many fundamental differences to BDO including - very long travel times, and very different sorts of risk vs reward considerations around player deaths. In order for this kind of ESS bank system to work in BDO, we would probably need some sort of respawn-rate restriction for deaths that occur in proximity to the bank so that it isn't as chaotic as die respawn die respawn die respawn -- what I mean to say is, there would have to be some way to ensure a failed robbery results in the losers moving on to another target rather than remaining solely to harrass.

I imagine the following scenario: What if I want to go grind Star's End, so I go there, and I find there is an active party of the current Star's End grinders. We are all grinding our own rotations separately, but we are unified in mutual self defense. After some time of grinding there, the bank is starting to accumulate quite a reserve of wealth within, and everyone in the area receives an alert - someone is attempting to breach the bank. We who are grinding the area mention this to our guilds and friends, and we mobilize to go defend the bank - which becomes a battle with meaning and significance with both risk & reward.

Now, I am just a simple player so my interpretation of the concept is very half-baked. But I think something like this is very interesting. We in BDO already have something slightly like this in the fashion of Guild Missions. If we accept a large guild mission to fight the enemies of an area, every participating guild member can receive a small payout relative to contribution, and any PvP which threatens the completion of the guild missions is weighted more significantly because the guild has some interest in completing their mission -- but I think this is not enough.

If Pearl Abyss is truly considering new concepts, especially for some reimagination of Arsha PvP, then I hope they are researching what works in other titles and are open to ideas.
