His opinion matters and hold much more weight then yours.
Only for his followers.
Not for people who never heared about him and not for the publishers/developers.
Why should a publisher/developer care about the opinion of a streamer who never played their game and never brought his followers to their game? They will not lose anything, just because some random streamer posts anything negativ about a game he never played. There are other streamers/influencers they can count on.
Streamers/influencers can have an impact, especially on games who will launch soon or are just launched.
But for a games which are already running for a few years their impact is negligible.
There are about 3.2 billion gamers worldwide (https://www.statista.com/statistics/293304/number-video-gamers/)
Twitch reports to have 140 million visiters per month. This means only 4-5% of the gamers watch and/or create streams on twitch.
If you ad other platforms you maybe get up to 10-20% of the whole gamers world wide, who watch and/or follow streamers.

1, That 3.2B gamers is BS. (Not even half of the world population owns a PC currently. This statistic is heavily flawled, as they count every random person who ever played with a game "gamer". Like if a 70+ yo granny play candy crush every other week they label that a "gamer" .)
2, That "random" streamer is literately the biggest on the world kek
3, There are other streamers PA can count... streamers who struggling to keep even 500viewers ROFL XDDDDDDDDD
While asmon is not a very smart guy, you can be pretty certain, that PA would be extremely happy if that "random" streamer would've played their game on stream. His followerbase is larger than the current active playerbase of bdo, not to mention that if he goes there half of the streamer/youtuber gamers starts to copy him.
PA atm attempt to increase their media influence with their partnered streamers, but that not really helps much. BDO is a boring game. It's boring to paly, and it's even more boring to watch. And even ignoring the core issue, they split their budget in attempting to help many insignificant streamers, instead of picking one or two, and boost them hard. That way they might would end up having at least 3-5k viewers, which would be enough to actually have some impact as an advertisment.
But that would actually require certain level of knowledge and understanding in marketing. But nah, better just randomly throw away some rewards here and there, and then check the "we atempted this" box without caring that it was a money waste only.
While asmon is not a very smart guy
Look at that! Something that you have in common with him!
I bought NW to try it out, and it's better than I expected.
It won't be a wow killer, and it's not a traditional mmo either, it's more like a halfassed survivor game, that have the sandbox parts removed.
If I would need to compare it, it's like GW2, and probably will be as dead as GW2 is.
I personally am going back to Guild Wars 2 when the expansion hits. I am just hear looking for another game until the expansion.
Note: Guild Wars 2 has been making more money year over year for the last couple of years. It also has had a serge of players lately.
BDO could be far better place now if they didnt make so high moneterizing on everything. Grinding some minutes, bags become full, inventory slot wont be enough, game force you to buy other benefits. Even we pay a lot of money, it needs more and more. Wow is a garbage game compared to BDO as graphics and combat type but gives more freedom. You pay sub, do whatever you want. There is rng but you dont feel it because you dont loose anything much, just game dont give. I loved BDO, but it took far way back all the fun it gave. And lack of group content like wow. Unbalanced PvP, etc etc. BDO could be far better place in the market, if had managed more smart way. They did almost everything to loose people. And yet, looking a chance to come back, still same, they just want money money money. Of course they will earn, we support the game we spend time with but it was too much here. If it was a subs. mode game and rest was free like wow, I"m sure was in #3 in the market.
"and the only players left are the ones who have invested so much into the MMO they dont want to leave"
Not entierly no yes there is allot of BDO player that suffers from the sunk cost fallacy but I would dare say there is allot who stays becuse they do enjoy the game. Saying otherwise is pure bullshit but then again Assmongold is full of shit so EH.
This is a video mostly about New World Cash Shop but he also touches on the agregious nature of cash shops in WoW and BDO.
BDO is already had the point where alot of the player base has abandoned the game because its so PTW now, and the only players left are the ones who have invested so much into the MMO they dont want to leave and only care if it affects thier own gameplay. And hes afraid that is alreay happening to New World before it has even launched.

Dont listen to the guy who spent so much on Lost Art that even steam blocked his account to not spend more. I like Asmo but he is hypocritic sometimes
