If BDO implemented a sandbox economy along the lines of Eve Online; I think that would be a nearly perfect world for me !
While it would be nice, koreans don't believe in the free market.
Maybe if you detailed it for those of us who have never played that game. It would make more sense, cause sadly atm all I can say is:
If you mean free trade and let players decide their own prices? That will probably not be changed.
Try Google. Here something I found on YouTube >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrW6p5ns8K8 (there's a part 2 & 3 as well) which will probably explain the mechanics better than I can.
BTW, Pearl Abyss own Eve Online, so they're well aware of what Eve offers, also Eve is a true sandbox, unlike BDO :).

They only own eve as an investor, they neither develop it, nor understand what's happening in it. The game is still developed by ccp.
I'm pretty sure that any company that paid $425 million for an investment would have some idea ...

Nah, not even the company leadership cares about the gameplay itself. What they care is the value of the assets, and how much profit they make.
Even if they would, the mere devs of PA, who are working on bdo have no relation of anykind to the investments done by the company, even if it's a another game. It's not their job to analize how other games work.
btw 425 million is literately pocket change in this sense. wow makes more than twice of this money every year. CCP is a small company, and it's ex owner wanted to sell it since long ago. He was rather happy that he found someone willing to pay money for it.
