These reworks are also about removing pointless skills or a least bring them up to a usable level. Ones that have new use.

As some may know, when working out functions and stats of skills, the devs will assing values to functions / stats and disrupt ‘point’ in a simple first pass balancing system.

This is why you may see some skills with strange numbers, where they will go for 27second and not a nice round 30 seconds… it’s a distribution decision. Well, let’s look at Sprinkle-Sparkle. Name one class in the game that needs of benefits from a shai giving them wp/mp in this fassion?

You are correct, Zero, it’s a redundant method, but it was probaly added to balance point distribution in the skills first pass. E.g

Let say (giving SP) counts as 1 Function point (FP)

(Taking SP) counts as 2 FP , as it an attack, its work more per point

Then (obtaining a leaf) counts at 4

Now let’s say they gave this skill a max point distribution of 60 function points (wish would be balance against all the other skill function, passive functions and so on, class may have a few 1000 in total)

60=

20*1 (give SP) + 10*2 (take sp) + 4 (leafed) +16 (acc)

Sorted we have a skill! .. Problem is it silly. 20 point of nothing and a 16% filler (can tell it’s the filler as it’s a strange number)

A skill to give SP is not needed. It is redundant, so the devs have thrown 20 Function points out the window.. for what? This is no balance.

What if it was?

8*1 (give SP) + 16*2 (take sp) + 4 (leafed) +16 (acc)

Or drop it all together

0*1 (give SP) + 15*2 (take sp) + 4 (leafed) +26 (acc)

Or over power the skill and make it useful?

0*1 (give SP) + 20*2 (take sp) + 8 ( 2 x leafed) +12 (acc)
