I have checked out a couple of beginner guides but they start by assuming you know more about the game than I do. I have one character to level 13 but its not skill, mainly floundering! have figured some stuff out but much of it is confusing. I have started a Witch and a Guardian to try and figure stuff out but can anyone help with these questions?
1) After killing something I may see a glowing stream of light. Am I supposed to pick something up?
2) The game says hit 'A' or 'D' and then RMB. These movement keys take me away from my target - why would that be?
3) Sometimes when I hit 'T' my character just runs into a cliff or tree. Is that normal?
4) Other times when I hit 'T' the character just starts running and clearly is not headed to a destination - what is 'T' doing?
5) I get the message 'Not enough consumables to use skill'. What consumable is that and where do I get it?
6) How can I see what gear I am wearing?
7) I see 'Tab' starts combat mode but what does a second 'Tab' do? Or rather, how do I get out of combat mode?
1, Yes, if a mob drops loot, there is a white line above it's corpse. You sohuld loto it, or have pets to loot it.
34,, T is the key for autopathing, and it also moves your character forward if no path is set.
6, press I
7, Tab enters to it, and pushing it again exits from combat mode.
Thanks.
When CatDK said I should loot I went looking for the loot key and found it was R+R.
Now Vulpin, thanks for answering a question I did not ask. I found that the yellow bar represents my WP and indeed that is what I am running out of. I noticed that left click seems to replenish it so, per your note, I will check out using 'K' to find out more.
5. The "not enough consumables" is most likely your mana (MP), some classes have SP or WP but they all serve the same purpose which is to cast spells or use skills. Most classes if you left click and hit a target you will regenerate MP so you can use higher powered skills again. There are some of your skills that give you mana back when you cast them, they usually use stamina. If you press K (skills menu by default) you can mouse over skills and look for +MP on hit, most of those skills are useable while they are on cooldown, some of them say +MP on hit not applied while on cooldown, this means that when you use it and the skill is between full power casts it won't do that action.
? Why not just mention mana potions, left clicking wastes so much time. Yeah a bunch of skills refill your WP as guardian, but to suggest left clicking aka auto attacking on a Guardian wow.

Please elaborate. When I killed the Red Nose Boss I used left clicking to replenish some of my WP bar. Or is it called a mana bar? Regardless, is using mana potions a better option and if so are they costly and do they have a cooldown?

Different classes have different abilities. I don't know if all classes has a mean to self-heal / replenish MP/SP/WP but I feel like everyone can. Usually it's "e" or shift+e for healing (and mp recovery). For recovering your mana pool of whatever kind, it's usually something like hitting it with a certain attack, a lot of attacks can do it especially left mouse click.
If you press "k" you'll see the skills list and if you hover over the skills, it'll tell you what they do. Clicking the > arrow next to a skill will tell you about the next level up if there's any.
