The problem here is that it doesn't follow the basic principle that other in-character people around the party or the platoon should also be able to hear them.

Party or Platoon chat RP does not invite newcomers into the RP when it comes to it. Especially when actions are involved, a hostile takeover, a thief, or an assassin doing it in whisper chat never gives any chances to potential witnesses that may, or may not be interested or have a chance to act out against it.

This is why general chat is used as it respects the general rules of vicinity. Party chat or Whispers tends to be for specific reasons private, QoL, shyness, chat scrolling too fast, way too crowded areas, events, housing stuff, etc.

Numerous RPers will have general chat non-sense spammers blocked and you may have RPers blocked yourself. 

I spend a lot of my time in towns doing life skills.

Its quite common that ppl ask me how much energy I have left when im at gathering spots so they know if its worth to wait or look for another spot.

So they are like the loud neighbour from across the street that can be heard all the way inside your own house.

Unlike real life theres an easy solution so I'll just keep using it.

So there is no spanish roleplaying on NA?

Hey guys, so I was curious and wanted to check out the RP scene in Black Desert however, I wanted to know if it was anything like RP on World of Warcraft? 

I doubt, though the game has a lot on the pro side for this (uninstanced, good housing, lots of locations). But you cannot really play with a party of friends in this game, except PvP. That is a huge issue. Most certainly the list the OP provided is outdated.

And no dancing emotes exist. :D

Hello and Greetings to you all fellow BDO adventurers. I gladly support the formation and usage of Discord channels, as a way to do some Roleplaying. However it seems a bit misguided, since the whole idea of RP'ing in online games, is to actually be Roleplaying while in-game.

A bit of RP'ing while in-game has to be an acceptable option, even indepth and long lasting Roleplaying, since it is a game; Games are meant to be for fun and enjoyment.
