My main is a guru 49 cook, guru 22 alchemist, and a master 21 trader, I hate being excluded from being able to use the tag and item copy feature because I life skill on the character I like to grind with most. Why is there still this restriction on trade items on tagged characters? I know it was put in the game as a temporary band-aid to stop some KR players from exploiting mechanics, but surely after however long it's been, there could have been implemented a more permanent and thought out solution that doesn't exclude a segment of your player base from using what is a very useful feature that is the tag and item copy mechanic. It's just salt in the wounds by making a 1 marni fuel event for those of us who cannot use the tag feature because we trade/imperial delivery and grind on the same character.
Wouldn't a better solution to the exploit problem be simply: that one cannot swap to a tagged character while the character or the character's mount is carrying a trade item? Seems a far better solution than the one currently implemented. Am I missing something here?
The best solution would be to "Lock" the tagged character while the other has a trade item in their inventory. This exists already, because once you go to jail in the desert you can not log into the non bandit/red character until you get out of jail.
Because it is not "broken"
Totally agree, I've also been skipping the tag mechanism precisely because I won't be able to hand in imperials/fish anymore. There are very easy mechanisms to fix these challenges, simply lock and disable the tagged character temporarily when the other character has trade items in their inventory.
It would also work if they would just allow you to place trade into storage but just not pick up. Like this the lifeskill trade items you randomly get you could at least drop them in a storage and not need to trash them.
I think it's just a matter of "set and forget". A pity though.
Hello are there any updates on this??? I really want to use my main for cooking and fishing
Can't you deliver boxes on your tagged character now? You just can't take them out of storage/put them in. So as long as you box your stuff every day, you should be good to go.
Fishers, on the other hand, are still out of luck...

You are correct, but some of us don't box everyday. It's easy trade XP to box in bulk in one city, and transfer to another via Trade Wagon. I box in Valencia and deliver elsewhere, some 4k-5k boxes per run because I hate doing it daily.
The point of the feedback above is still penalizing players who lifeskill on their main. And it's been said a few times in this thread, lock the tag if a character has trade items in their inventory. I didn't know about the jail thing, so the mechanic is already in the game, and should be easy to apply to the tagging system. This trade item restriction is why I don't tag.
