Interesting thought , if PA do more with AMD, ty.

I think i tired FSR and didn’t like it, very 'smudged' like I’m playing with some Photoshop filters on. Not good for filming and it made me feel uncomfortable playing the game.

Interesting, I actually had that awkward, clearly lower quality look too with my 1080Ti and thought something was off (things especially looked oddly "dithered", like with black dots in between). Maybe the results are not equally good with Nividia cards on contrary to what AMD claims. It wouldn´t be too surprising I guess. Well, reinstalling Windows could always be an idea to potentially fix sudden issues, too, though it takes time. I´ve modded my Win10 to AME and am kinda happy with that. But again this is not for everyone.

EDIT: Generellay having been an Nvidia only user since TNT 1 times: The AMD RDNA 2 cards are awesome, have a good value, features and image quality, AMD drivers are not the crap they used to be BUT I still every now and then have slightly odd behavior, i. e. when switching in beween multiple streams fast causing a sudden GPU performance stutter or earlier drivers having had occasional micro stutter in BDO. Coming from a flawless Nvidia experience this is just an "almost flawless" AMD one. Still, I would buy AMD GPU´s again for I trust that they keep ironing out these details and RDNA3 promises to be superior to Lovelace in every aspect. Now since an "almost flawless" experience is clearly a shitty one I´d again suggest not to buy anything at this time. I am throwing this junk out, too & selling it as soon as summer is over and better is obtainable.  :>

given the idea of a full rebuilt if a card cost more than 500-800, i had made a rough new build pricelist to keep an eye on prices... and just checking back now a month on, and the graphics card has droped  200 pound (234 Euro), in a month. that a huge price flux >< (Build is so i had somthing to keep an eye on and intel as they are the only ones i see funning along side ddr5 ram, which i would want in a new build)

when i just checked card was at 1,099.99 also belive early this year it was around 1,644.99 (£)

-not in a rush to make a new build, means leving the house and talking to the bank manager, who try to sells me stuff ><`

Don't waste your money on a 3080 TI or a 3090, you don't need it and will not need it any time soon. Those cards are meant for a whole different kind of audience (video editing for instance) which you are likely not doing because if you were, you would already have one. They focus on vram which is fine if you want to ultra-mod your games or play in 4k-8k but you probably won't. A lot of games can be played in 4k but you'll likely be playing in 2k if you choose 3080. The highest resolution I played games on was 5k and the difference between 2k -> 4k wasn't noticeable and 4k -> 5k I couldn't tell either. You might benefit if you use huge screens that are 50 inches+.

If you can find a MSRP 3080RTX (get a reputable brand, don't go for just any brand) then by all means if you want to buy one but you could always wait until they release their 40xx series and make a decision then. $400 used to be a lot for a new videocard (1080TI) but now $800+ is the new normal. Yikes!

I have a 3080RTX and it doesn't do too well with BDO even with everything fully spec'd. It does a fantastic job in every other game though, BDO is just BDO. You'll never experience that smooth 144fps on 2k with BDO except in rare instances.

As per the other suggestion of playing the game via streaming, ehhh-- don't get excited for it. It's still really far from being useful. There is a significant input delay and you're better off (for now) to just buy your own hardware than rent it.

Edit: Another thing I noticed in your list is you picked an insane power supply. You don't need more than 900 watts. 800 watts is more than enough but 900 is a nice safety net and costs half of what you want to spend on your microwave PSU. But hey, if you want to cook hot pockets on it, by all means.

Going overkill is better than having won the silicon lottery an using more power an your PC turning  of randomly , 1200w is respectable imo especially with the gpu snoods chose and if they go for 40xx series its already rumoured to use more power...

For the streaming , dont bother with it atm. It really shows its bad side in action games

I video edit, dam its clunks and slow.. you mean the YouTube stuff? Yeah that’s a key factor for me. my current machine was built for light map rendering and not gaming (though new Nvidia is going real time lightmapping, so loads may be off the CPU now?). Be nice to have one that can do both incase I want to get back into making small games on the side.

I am asking for advance but I’m not some sort of novice here. Advice is free and people have cool ideas.

Remembering this is a computer for 3-4 years of use, for Gaming and for my channel. I think I said record in remastered.

Then all that has to be edited (hours for just 5-15 mins videos ><)

I'z know what im doing with my power supply :) not just picking it for the big numbers. Ii’m a little worried you would suggest going lower  without knowing what I’m doing, what extras will be plugged in , lighting, chargers, how long I expect to have it running for (Weeks without reset is the norm, and full tillt doing something)

800w :( oh boy :P

explination;

Duff capacitors have been the main issue in failing electronics over the last decade (lot of low quality ones out there)... that monitor, that PSU, you can bet it’s the caps that go.. and With AC electronics, i don’t touch it /repair (though its pennies to do):P They aren’t just used to smooth out current /voltage (decuple and anti dip/spike), but used in timing as well, and that’s when you hear the electric 'ring' from the inductor/choke. Timing dropped into audible rang.

When something is on all the time, it’s the caps that get tiered fast. I have to take that into account and go over -  the over recommended :)

one site has recomemend 960w without including USB (charger, may get a graphs pen, and my ardiuno/teensy stuff) and fans and lights... the othere sites dont even list the new chipset and DD5 RAM

yup, my sister had a computer with enough power :P problem is peaks and how often they happen, 2 years in we where geting the coil rining and crashes. THe caps where tired. time to replace PSU. rather go over 10-20% over expected peeks...

also, hard to find info for the new compnenets in calculators.. not had a good look yet.

but even cooler master calculator doesn’t list components fully (and I trust them)

only if the snood is a rich shai

else it turn into overkill even for black desert ^_^

so if rtx 3 price drop in august or october when rtx4 will be released maybe it will be better for the snood to buy rtx3, especially if she want only for black desert

for video in general i dont see which game really need you get rtx4, except if ps5 pro or xbox x pro need dedicate game for them

but i am confident people can enjoy gaming in 4k 60fps with ray tracing with rtx3 until ps6 and xbox y will be released ^_^
