Its not just that they are overpriced (they are). Its the fact you can't even choose which skin you want, they are locked to their respective carrack type. 

You like the dragon one but have a Balance carrack? Though luck.

Most people wont even look at it and those who will most probably will wait for a discount/30% coupon before buying.

Honestly seeing the pricing in this game for anything in the Pearl Shop I cannot conclude elsewise than that the intended normal pricing for items is their "discounted" price. An actual discount might be achieved when you buy the Pearls you spend at a 20-50% discount (i. e. double Pearl Box), too.

50 EUR for a ship skin is just LMAOoooooooooO0. Something ridiculous like i. e. Star Citizen´s pricing schemes seems completely reasonable in comparison. But each to its own.

60 EUR for you. For me it's almost 280 EUR comparing purchasing power and the lack of regional prices.

Star Citizen does seem like an apt comparison considering BDO's ocean content quality is what you would expect from a game in pre-release alpha.

I remember when the definition of a micro-transaction was anything under $1 and even that was scandalous. The fact that as a society we accept this is pretty sad. The cost is obscene but then again what in BDO isn't? The worst part is that this is genuinely a P2W item since it has bonus stats (though i'm not certain exactly what).

It's a status symbol and nothing more. Sadly, people are vain and will buy it. When twitter and reddit stops virtue signaling, we will have evolved as a race... Or they ran out of people to cancel. Either way, vanity is a trash mentality. Don't buy the boat to gloat.

these skins shouldnt give stats. if u want to have the best boat u r basically extorted by devs to get this.

For the appearance and such a small benefit in stats, it does seem clearly overpriced to me. Really, I thought I misread when I saw the price...

... But sadly, it is probably not really overpriced. Marketing strategies, as someone mentioned it might be an initial price and the discounts will make it "acceptable" but I really doubt they made a mistake. Players got used to pay more and more for virtual items, such a price might even be closer to the new standard in this market.

Most players are not reasonable. It is worrying because they are clearly OK to pay for additional stats (and that's not a good trend for a game, though not necessarily reprehensible) and for a gamble (and THIS should be heavily controlled).

Exactly! Not only the skin is a total ripoff (@6k37) but it's also diminishing the difference between them carracks, which is not big to begin with. If you look at Valor and Volante - 3% speed increase on a 5% difference is just too much. HP-wise  100k straight up beats Valor by 50k. 5% turn is also not a joke, that's 500 mastery worth of turn right there. I don't want to argue stat usefulness but numbers. These numbers pretty much make them skins a must buy for people who care about numbers. That's selling advantage for real money. IMO to save face - either make the stats 1% or make the skin(or a similar one) available through grinding/questing. Don't give a point to the "BDO is p2w" people!

Oh and btw the turret/tower thingies at the back of the ship's overlay are just ridiculous IMO. On/off toggle would be a nice thing to have or just make a version with them gone.
