Something crossed my mind. Remember all these times when you spend hours upon hours of creating a new character for yourself, and then there comes this dreadfull moment:

Existing players have until 31th of May to transfer their accounts. But what happens after that? Do all the remaining accounts get deleted? Wiped off the database along with allll those thousands of used up awesome names?
Who knows, maybe I get to reclaim my long lost name after so long of someone else jacking it from me. Hmmmmmm

correct. any account that did not transfer will be deleted. all the reserved names (preorder bonus) if not in use, will also be released again.

Best thing about the transfer so far. I can't wait for all those names to become available.

It will be purged after 31 may I guess. Family names and character names are going to be locked until then (?) I think. At least I understood that in this way

To clear things up as best as I can - unfortunately, I lost the screenshot showing the information.

Basically, we're having an early-transfer registration that awards us as active players, however, Pearl Abyss is giving some time to those players who have not played in some time a chance to be able to transfer over their information. Pearl Abyss is becoming self-published on February 24th but the window for all players to transfer information will be May 31st. On June 1st, all information for any accounts that did not put in a transfer will be deleted, meaning any rare Family/Character Names will be available for the public to swap into. This is the reason we're getting both a Family and Character Name change coupon.

I appreciate the gesture: I'm a BDO funder and even thos one of the perks of being a funder was name reservation before launch, my favorite family name was already taken. I appreciate being gifted coupons so I have a free opportunity to get back "my" name :D

thank god i don't care much about names anymore. Back then I used to think a lot about it. 

Now i just write down the first thing coming to my mind lol

It is nice to see the names released, personally don't need any but I know of people who missed the chance back when they pre-ordered the game at launch as the names they usually use got sniped before they could reserve it, so it's nice for people to get another chance :)

A lot of players will be looking forward  to the new clean slate. Many names will be available again once we get past march 31st, wait to use the re-naming tickets until after the great purging happens.
