It seems that you can no longer heat the weapon and the black alloy to make a weapons box to change characters. did they remove this option from the game or is it a glyich or no?

You cannot do that to Obisidian Abyssal Weapons. Only Black Abyssal.

you use to for if you read the discription it states to take the weapon and heat it with the black alloy and you get a box. both alloy and weapn say that in the discription. you no longer can do that. i was able to do that before now you can't. 

This is correct. I had to poke around on the net and check in-game.  

Normally only think about it when I get to that quest in season.  I'll take the black weapon and turn it into a box (or does it start out as a box?), and store that and the obsydian allloy for the start of the next season.  That one becomes unchangeable, but that's ok because I just pick up the next box and alloy again.

you must talk to abdul jaum with the last character you used to open the abyssal box. just did that, had to swap to the character that last opened the repackaged box from a different season.

What's supposed to happen when you do this? I just did it and didn't get any dialogue or a quest other than the weekly to repackage the original Abyssal Weapon.
