BDO's biggest weakness is it's Background Music

When BDO was first released back in 2016, it's OST was comparable that of to GW2, FFXIV and other great MMOs.   BGM would change depending on location and there was mount riding music too.

Then they removed Mount riding music.

Then last year they decided to change the OST from depending on your current location to depending on which continent you are.

Then they added a useless band-aid called Marni wave.

Seriously, does anyone still play this game with the music on?   Please fix BDO's BGMs...

It´s not the biggest weakness but the music in this game is symptomatic.

And nope, BDO music is turned off for me too and I checked, the old OST already was better before the recent change with totally random music nailed the coffin (apparently they redid most of the music to resemble to old scores but be different - inferior, less intense sounding than the original - before I joined the game already). I am playing Glish, Velia, Keplan original 2016 scores to my Pen&Paper group while DMíng for they are so awesome. Probably too awesome to remain in the game some genious at PA figured...

I have no clue why they keep nerfing their game:

worse/blurry textures, missing animations for newer classes, musical downgrade, graphcial fidelity downgrade while hardware evolution actually heads in the opposite direction -- I guess they have a secret deal with NCSOFT to help them bring out their longtime undead Lineage follow-up as a roaring success. For this, BDO needs to ensure it is worse. :o

The music has never been any good in this game.  It doesn't match up with the content of the game.

I love the music in this game.  I actually posted something on it yesterday, but the thread was removed from the feedback list: it was concerning how we're close to April 13th, the Day the Music Died.  Kinda surprised, as I actually complimented them on the tracks that I like at Soldiers' Cemetery and the beautiful rendition of the Serendia theme that begins with the flute. It's very short and dramatic, but it's hauntingly beautiful.  Then I mentioned my continous greviance against Mediah's tracks, but I've never been censored on that before.... Who knows?  Guess the GM's are still reading our posts.  That's encouraging.  I hope they tell me why they deleted it.....

I love the music in this game: they're pieces that I frequently listen to when working.  I feel that they defined areas and the situations that occured there very well.  The battle music in the earlier regions was sometimes anooying, but at other times it really nailed the battle situations.  Sountracks are never perfect, but I feel that this game's soundtrack was as good as it got.  The village/town/city themes were spot on.  I could listen to them non-stop, which I can hardly do with most songs.  Now, it's a mess.  I keep the music on because I feel that it makes this game.  I play games for they're entirety: if the music's bad, it's a reason I don't get into the game.  So..... I've been suffering for the past year.  And tomorrow, I will mute the music for the entire day to mark the anniversary of the Day the Music Died.

All they needed to do was set a toggle to let people listen to random tracks if they wanted.

Well, that didn't happen.

Peace to all.  I hope everyone's gaming experience only improves.
