While this has made it look like BDO is dead, I really don't want them to cut the number of servers in half. I will say that I really dislike the Marni realm for making everything look dead, but then again I like the fact that I can go anywhere and just start grinding. I never use Marni even if it's available.
For me Marni realm is amazing addition to this game. Trying to balance work, family and games, I usually don't have more than 1 hour free time per day to grind, and I don't want to waste my time jumping chanels and trying to find empty spot, or fight other players for that spot. I can simply jump in to the game and grind my 1h in peace.
Just like anything else, it does have positive and negative effects.

Grinding...boring
Gathering....boring
Other lifeskill activities ....mind numbing
PVP.....waste of time and silver
Gearing....pointless because of AP caps
PVE activities...boring
"Content" Patch cycles ....to long
Even the cashshop is making me yawn with all the sales like the game is begging ppl to buy something.
Where is the fun? If it werent for AFK mechanics, this game would had been dead years ago lol.
If you feel that way, then why longer torture yourself. Logout, uninstall, delete account and never look back again. Simple.
You didn't have to start a thread about it. What you do want to achive with it? Gloating perhaps?
People come, people go. Over the course of years there were more people who left, even complete guilds got disbanded. But there are also new ones coming and new guilds are rising. That's the way with MMORPG's. And that thing about dead game, that is a meme almost just as old as the game itself. And yet, it's still here and it has nothing to do with afk lifeskilling, like fishing.
BDO has changed the MMORPG landscape and now there are those why are trying to copy it and to do it better, but don't succeed. BDO is just a strong brand, just like Aion, Guild Wars and EverQuest.
