I run it with admin mode, reinstalled my graphics drivers completely, Reinstalled the game completely, and ran a SFC Check, not to mention the other things you should do. Still getting the 0x000005 error.

Same issue for weeks. Support basically gave up and blamed hardware >.>

32GB Memory (tried non XMP as well)

2TB SSD
Windows 10 Pro | Version 22H2 | OS build 19045.3208 | Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19041.1000.0

Tried anything I could and still no resolution.

-Deleted Cache, UserCache, Temp, etc.
-Reinstalled the game plus delete all existing files

-Repair system file with DISM and SFC

-Updated BIOS

All these crashes are from BDO - happens within minutes

Straight away from PA Support team ( [GM]Ginburrey )

Hello again,

I'd like to try some more troubleshooting if you don't mind.

From the description you've given us in your last message, the following steps could help alleviate disconnections of this kind. I do understand that there is a lot of steps to follow and take in, but please be thorough and complete them all.

I suspect that your Windows Socket API might need to be reset. You can reset it by following these instructions:

• Press Start on the bottom left of your Windows taskbar.
• Search for cmd and IMPORTANT: Right click on the Command Prompt icon and press "Run as administrator".
• Type in netsh winsock reset and press Enter.

Your Proxy Settings might also be misconfigured. In order to reset them, please follow these steps:

• From Start, search for Internet Options. If you are using Windows 10, simply type in Internet Options after opening the menu.
• Click the Connections tab.
• Click LAN Settings and make sure that all options are turned off.

Next, please power cycle your modem and router. This is simply shutting down all devices connected to them and powering both of them down for a short period of time. After this, turn your modem and/or router back on and allow them to fully boot up until the front connection lights show a steady connection.

In addition to our above steps, please disable any antivirus and firewall software you have enabled currently, and ensure you are using a wired connection if possible. It is best to always use a wired connection directly to your modem when troubleshooting any network related issues, so if possible, please bypass your router temporarily.

I would also advise that you disable compatibility mode if you have it enabled, and that you ensure you are running the game with administrator privileges and have administrator rights on your computer.

Last but not least, please make sure that your Router or ISP are not blocking the ports 8888 and 9991 - 9993. You can check this via the website found http://portquiz.net:8888/. If you can see this page, then you are okay. If not, your ports are blocked.

As said elsewhere the game is really demanding and will stress your components.

Additional steps might be:

- Ensure your cooling is all fine, CPU cooler is mounted properly and get rid of that huge pile of dust on your fans regularly.

- Get rid of or re-evaluate any overclocking settings!

And yea, what applied a decade ago still holds today: DO NOT INSTALL SERVICES AND AUTORUN PROGRAMS CARELESSLY!

Basically the more you add to your WIndows installation, the more prone it becomes to compatibility issues due to settings that individual programs foolishly applied! Keep a sleek, thin Windows installation for gaming is the best advice you can have! Do not be the first to test new stuff or betatest Windows releases for MS or other manufacturers!!! They want to make you believe their new features are SO great but do you really need them together with their latest duct-tape release?

Yea it´s the way Windows works and it´s been like that since the 90s unfortunately and wouldnt need to give that adivse on Linux.

Basically it´s still "never touch a running system" and "keep things as slim as possible for your needs".  Don´t shy away from killing a bloated Windows install and setup a fresh one.

___

I have BDO installed on three PCs and do not experience crashes at all (Self built Ryzen 7800x3d, Ryzen 5800x3d and an Intel-based Acer Triton II SE Laptop with RTX 3070). Currently all systems are running Nvidia cards. When I had a Radeon 6900 XT it was fine too but I remember some of its driver versions were problematic with BDO.

I am using ReviOS 23.04 Windows 10 Pro (but any non- bloated Windows installation will do), removed Win 11 from the Laptop cause it was a source of failure!

I usually install drivers on the advanced/minimum settings option. So no "Geforce Experience" for me and no likes of "Asus Armor Crate" (shudder, worst bloatware on the planet, installs 6 services that keep messing with your system in the background right on, gg).

Also using Nvidia Driver 528.24 because that one works without issues. I am always checking Nvidia forums before I decide on a new driver version. If your system works fine, don´t do random updates unless valid security concerns!

All my PCs are also used for productivity (Image/video/audio editing, rendering, LibreOffice, specific software for my job). So you can do what you want and still have a great and fast gaming experience. Again for editing software I try to refrain from the huge, bloated ones. I. e. "Shotcut" is enough for me at current.

You as a consumer matter, what you accept and use software-wise will shape companies future decisions and no one except you yourself have experience in what´s best for you.
