Hey fellow Black Desert Online adventurers,

I hope this post finds you well. Since the latest update, it's no secret that Guild vs. Guild (GvG) content has taken a backseat, leaving many players longing for the thrill of open-world PvP. I've been mulling over a possible solution that could cater to both the world PvE and PvP players, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

The Proposal: Guild PvP Preferences

I suggest the introduction of a system where each guild can choose their PvP status, marking themselves as either a "PvP Guild" or a "Casual Guild." This choice would be flexible, allowing guilds to switch their status once every 7 days. Here's how it might work:

For PvP Guilds:

  • Open GvG Battles: PvP guilds would have the ability to declare war on other PvP guilds, reviving the classic GvG battles we've missed.
  • Expanded PvP Opportunities: PvP guilds would gain access to a wider range of PvP content, including T1, T2, T3, and T4 node wars, as well as Castle Wars.

For Casual Guilds:

  • Peaceful Grinding: Casual guilds can go about their PvE business without worrying about being declared on by PvP guilds, ensuring safe and enjoyable grinding experiences.
  • Limited PvP Options: Casual guilds would be restricted to participating in T1 and T2 node wars, promoting a balanced gameplay experience for all.

I believe this system could bring balance to the game, providing PvP enthusiasts with the excitement they crave while allowing PvE-focused players to enjoy the world of Black Desert without the constant threat of PvP encounters.

Why This Could Work:

  • Player Choice: It allows players and guilds to decide how they want to experience the game, offering flexibility and adaptability.
  • Reviving GvG: PvP guilds get to enjoy revived GvG battles, which were once a thrilling part of the game.
  • Peaceful Progression: Casual guilds can focus on grinding, life skills, and PvE progression without the fear of constant PvP interruptions.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this proposal. Do you think it could be a step in the right direction for balancing PvP and PvE interests within the Black Desert Online community? Please share your feedback, suggestions, and ideas to make this proposal even better.

Let's work together to revive the thrill of GvG and ensure that both PvP and PvE players have their place in our beloved world of Black Desert Online.

"A solution for all players" PA did this change for most players and "some" players want to revert it...

"Most players" there is a post with over 950 up votes with a GM putting a BS reason why they are ignoring the community which is normal since we arent KR.

This forum isn't a representative sample of the player base though

Show me posts with more than a hundred upvotes or downvotes, heck show me some with more than a dozen in either direction.  Now look at the fact that a post has over 950 votes with the majority being an upvote and it says something.  Most topics don't even get a like or dislike in the first place.  Also there were tons of comments on that same thread.

there are far more players than 950, so the relatively high number of votes don't really mean anything.   Point being, these forums do not necessarily represent all the people playing BDO.  To do that, you'd need a scientifically valid sample.  The developers have far better data, than the small and non representative group of people posting here.  Not saying the comments are off, but forum visitors don't necessarily represent the entire playerbase.  That's factual.

By this logic, Nothing posted on this forum should ever be implemented. None of the posts are representative of the player base.

Guilds are already free to accept wars or not, and unless I misread your proposal it won't preserve players from pk on an individual level.

So, what is the benefit of your proposal? I only see an additional layer of complexity and seperation between pve and pvp, but no benefit.

(To be honest, I have a bias towards pvpve, precisely because I think every player should play in a controlled pvpve environment. I'm simply saying that so you know my opinion about it, for the sake of the conversation).

And I am wondering why all the feedback on the forums is here... Maybe it's better not to make any feedback at all?

This arguement is just not an arguement at all. Some posters never read their own posts.
