Yeah, but I'm still hurting from the last "ball".........

Can't they wait to punish us with more declarations of how they're dismantling this game until next Christmas?  The good-vibes of the seaons helps nullify the pain.....

There are some changes that I disagree with as well. However, I have always said this game cannot survive with it solely being PVP players. This group is not sustainable. PVE and Lifeskillers are the bread and butter. Not BA, RBF, AOS, and NW only players.

However, i think they are a day late and a dollar short. Especially with adding content and changes.

Buffing lifeskilling is fine.

Gutting the game, and calling it an improvement is not.

There is no imagination, which should be the life of this game.  Making it an arena/grind game where all you do is mindlessly fight will only sustain this game for so long.  It's the easy way to milk a cash cow.

BDO could be so much more.  It seemed that was the original developer's intent, given the amazing world they built.

But with a sub-par story, and the fact that they're now gitting rid of all diversity that makes this game interesting,  the future is looking bleak.

I'm not a robot

To clarify my post. There needed to be a balance in the game, and pve'ers/lifeskillers are said bread and butter. Whether that be supplying the market with accessories, weapons, drop items for people to buy. Or lifeskillers to supply needed consumables. Without them, the economy suffers and so does supply and demand.

After that, now factor in cash shop additions because most of these players love costumes and pets. These players were tired of PK players running around flagged up killing them with no way to defend themselves. They just wanted to enjoy one side of the game and people cried about not letting them play in peace. It's like kicking puppies and kittens, but staying away from the apex predators. Literally Hyenas of BDO. Eventually the exodus began, and players packed up and left.

You know where this happens in real life? Impoverished communities and third world countries.

I am patiently waiting on the earnings report on the 15th of Feb that PA has announced....

Currently stock prices for PA are the lowest in the companies history, this earnings report will show the previous quarter which includes the month of and months after all the PVP changes.

It is very obvious something is wrong with the game, now you see very few players if ever there are maybe about 20+ people in BA_1 at any given time. RBF that used to have games running with at least 20+ players during the day on saterday and sunday with about 60-100 in the evening daily are down to a dozen at any given time. Most time RBF is silent till 6pm est everthing is empty.

Kinda sad to see the game in its current state after almost 8 years it used to be so alive and vibrant.

I see no strategy, aside from chasing new players at the expense of loyal veterans.  I see things thrown out to placate players, especially news ones instead of a clear plan to sustain and grow loyalty.  The gvg changes were impulsive and poorly thought through and illustrates a long, downward slide.

Agreed.
It really is funny to me whenever i see people claim that PAs current direction is successful and good for the game when the numbers clearly indicate otherwise.
First of all, the economy is not exclusively driven by players exclusively doing PvE or lifeskills, especially the most hardcore of PvP players are the ones who grind or grinded harder than most and also dabble in other aspects of the game like lifeskills in order to gear up for their main content since guess what, PvP still doesnt make good silver in 2024 and has been quite literally negative money for the majority of BDOs lifespan.
Secondly, i am very certain that the vast majority of pearl shop sales are not some casuals that buy a pretty outfit for their char, but rather whales constantly buying outfits, artisans and whatnot to progress their account - and what kind of people have a reason to pay to progress? correct, people looking to be viable or gain a gear advantage in PvP, this has always been the main incentive to whale in the game. PvE exclusive players really have no good reason to whale out when grinding and progressing their gear literally is their only content, they would just cut their own flesh and remove content from themselves by whaling, whats the point in that?
While there is definitely groups of people that welcome the current direction PA is going for, that doesnt mean that turning your back on the initial design philosophy of your game and spitting in the faces of a big part of your loyal veteran playerbase is the correct thing to do overall either, and i agree with you 100% that if you are active in the game right now and you experience how the servers feel like it feels very dead compared to what it was in past years, especially before all the changes that essentially gutted organic open world pvp.

PS: It probably also doesnt help their revenue to have so much capped content in the game that everyone gets to enjoy essentially all content with just season gear or slightly above, since that again removes any and all need for someone to gear up which results in them being unlikely to spend money in the pearl shop.
