Witch Awakening is very good at PVE, on pvp sucks but who wanna bother pvp on awk, go succession. I have many hours playing with awakening and tried pvp too but is just not good this spec to for pvp, so its better to grind with her instead of trying something that won't excel.

I switched to witch awk for pve only, she can handle most of spots without any problems and grind peacefully without being in continuous alert.

Worded differently, "Oh, you like playing that spec and want to PvP? Well that's just too bad my friend. Play something completely different just to be competitive." lol

^This right here. Plus they're all the time coming out with half baked FOTM classes until we have 60 something classes each with succession and awakened specialization which would need balancing. Especially whenever they release a new class. That's why they keep releasing new classes rather than working on old ones. Pearl Aybss doesn't look back. It really sucks that they do this. Rather than improve what we already have and work and expand on them, they come out with 'better versions' of those classes in order to replace the older ones. That's why they hype them up. They want people to drop their class and play the 'brand new' one. Which isn't really 'brand new' as much as it is 'refurbished.' 

I agree that some specs do get forgotten like succ Valk but I do think that most classes are at the very least pretty good at something in this game. In a game where there is so much to do, I think it's okay that some classes are good at some things and bad at others. I've made this post before but a perfectly balanced game is a homogenized one. There are some qualities that are just going to be inherently strong for certain elements of the game and unless you make classes which areweaker in those qualities busted in less influential ones and/or make the classes that excel in those qualities garbage in everything else surrounding it, the gaps will always exist.

Also, most people who play this game don't think in terms of "the class is refurbrished for this function" and more in terms of "I think this class looks cool and/or I like its individual playstyle" and I think different classes play differently enough for new classes to add to the game. What class is the scholar a refurbrished version of?

At least succ valk has the tools in it;s kit to fight. Awake witch is so far down on the bottom that even ap shai has a pretty decent match up against her fragile stationary body.
