Sorc definitely has one of the best short range movement, but it's not seen as good because of its movement speed but because of the invincibility part of it. Sorc can definitely be a high skill ceiling class. But I don't think it is the kinda mobility he is looking for.

IMO, pick a class you find appealing and stick with it.  Get good with it and you can't really go wrong.

Yeah, that would be the best option but it doesn't always work like that for me, in case of BDO I don't feel like there is this one class just for me cause I'm simply interested in few of them. Tbf I envy you with your love to Sorceress. Normally in this case I just create multiple characters and level them up alongside each other but the season system doesn't allow me to do that, thus I decided to create this post and at least get a list of possibly fitting me characters that I could experience one by one.

You have 2 different skill presets unlocked for free and you can buy more skill presets in the Pearlshop. You can swap between skill presets with a 10 minute cooldown. This includes skill add-ons (and everything else). You can save a skill preset before you choose skill add-ons and then you can always load an empty preset. You can also change a skill add-on at a skill instructor for 1 Memory Fragment which is around 4 million silver on EU. You can make 15 million silver per minute with full PEN Tuvala gear, all adventure logs, PvE crystals and lightstones, and proper PvE damage and drop rate buffs. So changing skill add-ons isn't expensive.

For character builds you cant really mess stuff up. You have seperate PvE and PvP Crystal and Lightstone set which you can swap freely in between. Ideal PvE gear is Blackstar mainhand, awakening, offhand, kutum offhand is fine as well, accuracy gloves, DR boots. For PvP DR class you slap on a nouver. For PvP evasion class you use evasion gloves and boots. Accessories for quite a while.

That's great news!

If you want to you can try out Ninja and check if you're fine with the high APM.

I'll definitely keep him in my "gonna try out" list, right now I'm leaning towards starting with Succ DK and seeing what happens. I mostly read positive opinions about her and seems decent enough in both PvP and PvE. To be fair, I don't expect myself to have issues with high APM during my playtime (I rarely just grind for hours without breaks either way).

I kinda intentionally didnt give too much info upfront. For someone who is new, a lot of these questions are exceedingly hard to answer, or even imagine / understand the meaning of a lot of the context. In my experience, its usually better to get started with a class and find out over the season if it feels fitting, and reroll if not. Its quite easy when still new after all. You can think about class choice for days , or just get started and find out yourself. And imo, the finding out yourself is definitely a lot more effective :D

Yeah, even if I'm experienced in mmos, BDO is way different and there are certain characteristics of classes that just don't matter to me yet cause I simply didn't even get to that point to even understand my preferences in these regards. After all, you guys gave me tons of tips and a new view at classes which really helped me. As I said, I probably wouldn't even bother with this post, cause I do believe trying out classes by yourself tends to be the best, but in case of season progression I didn't really want to constantly reroll. If I could level up characters alongside each other, it wouldn't be an issue.

To sum it all up, thanks to all of you, I managed to create a managable "gonna try this" class list and I'll probably go with them one by one since I never spent any season tickets before. Also, I bet, alongside the journey I'll get a better understanding of my preferences and I might even come back here to update you on what I like and don't like about currently played classes which probably will lead me to finally finding a proper main.

@ not being bothered by high apm. I have to say this:

Two things, one... some day your hands will hurt if you really play games. Haha.

Two, for me, pressing buttons fast is not what causes strain, for me, it's certain combos of buttons. Like chords on guitar or something.

If I'm having fun, it doesn't matter cuz my hands go numb anyway haha. But it's definitely worth it to think about the lifespan of your hands / carpal tunnel / ulnar nerve issues if you're just grinding for 15% more silver haha. If it's fun, then by all means. Some of the classes, the way they slide between things, really FEELS good. But I would caution anyone against going on YT and being like this is what I'll do, this is what I'll get max money doing. AT LEAST do it for pvp. :o

For me, I was playing console stuff, so the whole holding triggers, moving the stick, and then pressing buttons is tough. My grip strength is a bit off on my left hand. That and playing games where you have to W-shift forever and run around a huge world. I think I probably press way too hard, but I am pretty sure that some class will feel right for you hands, and it's hard to say what the actions are gonna be. I mean, we all are typing a lot and can probably do that for hours, but we have a way of doing it. Same with playing BDO.

Breaks, transitions, holds... all of that is what will get you strained, imo, more than just raw apm.
