I feel like before everyone knew knockdowns were the longest CC's, and that you use downsmash to keep players on the ground.. fights were more interesting.
The game has been a "catch" game, so slower classes with less mobility fall back in small fights, with even fewer options in group PvP.
When I was first learning PvP in BDO, it was pretty much try to rotate between stiff and CC, then grab. And even back then when I was playing 1v1's in BA; resistances were pretty damn annoying (spending hours as a Warrior 1v1ing my Ninja friend lol).
I feel like being able to stand back up in the middle of a fight is almost as similar as popping a trinket in WoW.. kind of an off topic comparison but a valid one from people familiar with MMORPG PvP.
Maybe BDO could learn from another "Korean MMORPG" - RF Online, where CC's prevented you from healing (using potions), where 1v1 was pretty much impossible unless it was an extreme gear gap, and where you could swap to a shield and "hopefully" survive enough damage to fall back if you were caught out in group fights.
