Greetings from the Black Desert Studio.
Today, we would like to talk about the basic movements and controls of classes—in particular, Archer and the classes released after him. When we were creating Archer’s basic movements, we wanted his movements to look a bit more natural, so we added a new, exclusive animation. As this animation ended up being implemented on Archer, Guardian, Hashashin, Nova, Sage, and the recently released Corsair, we received a lot of feedback saying that their movements felt frustrating to control, especially when compared to the older classes. Then the class reboot was announced, and we saw that some Adventurers were concerned that the existing classes would also be changed to be like the newer classes.

We would like to make this absolutely clear, there are no plans to change the basic movements and controls of older classes. Furthermore, we will be improving the basic movements and controls of Archer, Guardian, Hashashin, Nova, Sage, and Corsair to match the feel of the older classes. We’re currently working to prepare this patch as soon as possible and expect to release it in the Global Labs on July 22.

Truthfully, we’ve heard a great deal of feedback saying that “this class feels heavy” or “the movement delay is really cumbersome.” Looking back, we should have decided to make improvements sooner, so we would like to sincerely apologize for how late it being worked on.

We want to thank our Adventurers worldwide for always sending us such excellent feedback. We will do our best to make Black Desert the best it can be.

I wouldn't mind if they ~balanced~ the OG classes. Players of classes like Witch, Ranger, Musa, Maewha, and Shai will love you long time. In a game built around anti-cooperative experience where most of the game play is 1v1 'competition for resources'. No class should be too weak or strong that a fight is decided before gear is even brought into the equation.

I personally support the nerfing of mechanics for Sorc, War, Valk, Nova, Lahn, Ninja, Tamer, Mystic, Striker, and Hashashin. And the buffing of Ranger, Witch, and Shai. No class should be hard countered at same gear score and skill level in a solo oriented MMO with Open World forced PvP. All classes need to be around equal footing with each other. At least in 1v1 disputes and PvE.

Git gud noobious maximus.

Good show lad.

I especially liked the part where you threatened to leave BDO.

Apparently PA has heard about this and listened. This post for global labs indicates that they will be patching out the "weighty" movements on the newer classes and making them work like the old ones. You'll have to machine translate to read it though. I'd post a translation of the relevant bits, but for some, bizarre reason, this forum doesn't seem to support copying or pasting - one of the most basic features of any text editor or word processor.

Thx for info :)

Oh.. so thats why I always have to stop like 5 meters away from the npc and then love tap W to still bump into the NPC to talk to them?

No wonder it felt weird and clumsy.

Yeah totally sucks.. I only played old classes yet, and now with the new corsair i was so shocked, how this class sucks with movement and combat controll.. like talking to a npc and than afterwards your char stands hundred meters away in the wasteland..
its like mounted on a horse and than talking to npcs.. very very bulls*it..
