Noticed a significant difference in damage taken versus a regular set of boss Caphras level gear?

Looking at a apples to oranges comparison to see if there is a notable difference see between the sets.

I'm full tet bs, and on lahn I tank ator dungeon same as warrior with full pen boss c4

Depends on what set to set your refering to and what level your refering too.

Also are we talking about PVE or PVP here there is a massive black hole between what your asking.

Referance though Full 4 set of Blackstar or 3 set with Fallen god is a Dr build to start with (same stats as its counterpart) with the exception that these peices offer monster damage (PVE) bonus vs PvP related bonus.

Example is Black Star Boots

Tet BS shoes = Pen Uragons C2 (BS has a passive +5 monster damage reduction) everything else is same stat

Pen BS shoes = Pen Uragons C9 (again BS has +5 monster damage) everything else is same stat

(Bonus effect is a +5 monster with 2 set effect and a 10% debuff from monsters 3 set)

The main issue is Flexibility Black star has only 2 paths

#1 Obsidian making that TET BS = Uragons C7 ( i would like to point out the mats to make this Obsidian is worth $$$$'s and is a lil cheaper that caphras BUT the time required is significant do to the multiple areas to grind for mats cant buy them, this is a time sink vs grinding in one location then buying caphras)

#2 Enhance to PEN

For those or 95% of most players pretty much TET BS is end game some may goto Obsidian over time but VERY FEW with PEN Blackstar armor. Also we are talking a single peice here for Obsidian. The Mats AND time required to make 3 peices Obsidian is absolutly insane anyone doing this literally could be a bit more than halfway to a Pen accessory Or could have almost have 3 peices of reg boss to c9 with just the mats and junk gained through the 300 ish hours of grinding.

the Advantage for Boss gear is that you can continue to caphras over time, again 95% of most players will not get to C9 some will. but even less move past, Boss gear can continue to advance beyond C9 gaining more stats to C20 at this point boss armor completely destroys Blackstar.

I would also like to point out that all that effort into makeing obsidian will do NOTHING  for you when the fallen God helm then eventually Boots/gloves come out you will need PEN Blackstar to obtain them and then you will lose the 5+ bil in obsidian per peice to clense them to sell OR make PEN.

Sure you may feel tankier in PVE (by a little) but this will be short lived in some areas of the game in PVE like Ash or Oluns not to mention crypt base TET BS may be a bit low for Orcs as well. In these areas evasion sets are much more effective (except crypt nothing works well there) due to the low accuracy of most of the mobs then it becomes a difference in classes vs gear.

Getting full TET BS is very easy(easier than getting PENC0), so if you only PvE it's a viable option.

Getting PEN BS is pointless since it's more expensive/harder to get than the boss gear counterpart.

Well kinda the whole BS is a pointless addition to the game, yeah.

I appreciate the feed back. I should have been more specific in regards to my question about damage reduction and equivalent level of Blackstar versus normal boss gear.

I'm looking for normal "yellow' boss gear such as Dim, and Red nose chest piece Caphras level equivalent to Blackstar chest along with other armor pieces.

While I do think that Blackstar for PvP is less effective, due to its' total evasion being inferior for PvE I wanted to see if people wearing the full armor set is noticing an "objective" difference in it's PvE bonuses.

Oh, I know. I build my fail stacks off this gear. My hopes, so far is to have 500 fail stacks in every Nader band slot before I have one pen Blackstar piece.

Blackstar enhancing difficulty on a scale from 1-10 is a 20 for me.

Not true, Cronning BS armor is cheap considering what you get.  980 for helm/boots/gloves and 1350 for the chest.  24b to get a chest piece to the same level as Pen BS, and it costs 23b for the Pen armor piece itself if you want the same monster DR as a pen BS you need to get to C20 and even then you are still 4 DR off before the set bonus gets added a C20 Rednose is 88b and a C20 Dim Tree is 97b.

The BS Weapons cost a lot to cron, but the armors are cheap in comparison to the yellow version.
