How to get a free skill reset? Usually you have to use an Armstrong's Guide or a Secret Book of the Old Moon, but you can do with out those. All you need to do is finish the awakening or succession quest. Completing the previously mentioned quest will give you a free Armstrong's Guide, but the more important item that you also get is the Skill Preset coupon. With the free Armstrong's Guide, you get all spent skill points back or just swith around them if you feel like it. I recommened resetting. After you reset the skill points, spend 3 skill points on a passive skill of your choice and save that state as a skill preset. With that skill preset you get to reset that classes skill points every 15 minutes at a Skill Instructor, which are found in every big city and even some smaller location. Of course only as long you don't save a new skill preset over the reseted one.

By the way, if you hadn't put on any Skill Addons, this skill reset will also reset those, which Armstrong's Guide or Secret Book of the Old Moon doesn't do. But if you had put on any Skill Addons before you got Skill Preset coupons, they are unfortunately unresettable. Then you have to use Memory Fragments for each Skill Addon you want to change or use a Secret Book of the Old Moon to change the Skill Addons freely while the Secret Book is active.

I find this very useful to beginners who might be lacking in skill points, but also allow them to test out different Skill Addons. For veteran players this might not be as useful, since they probably have all the skill points they need and more. And they probably have set their Skill Addons suited to their style of gameplay and probably extra Skill Presets for different situations.
