+1 for providing Linux EAC support. This seems to be the only thing the Proton/wine community can not provide by themselves. BDO is the only remaining title i really *need* windows for.
+1 I played it in the past.
And I would like to give it another go. But I don't have any Windows machines anymore nor do I feel one game justifies that for me.
It is probably a very easy fix and I am sad that Pearl Abyss doesn't just change it.
But in fact I think the files are also in Apex. I know one could copy the EAC files into Outriders to get it to work.
I think many come here in hopes for announced support. So I have not tried this yet but maybe this will also work here.
+1 in favor to EAC support ON in Linux.
The game is receiving many good updates, adding the support to Linux will not kill anyone.
Cut off making excuses about code complexity, now enabling the support is more accessible, BDO in Linux will be an excellent addition to MMORPG category in Steam Deck.

I don't BDO would not run any good on a Steam Deck, even with low grafic settings.

Runs fine, actually. 45-50fps on medium. (under windows)
Of course you're not gonna be doing huge competitive things at that framerate but it's plenty if you just want to play bdo away from your pc.
+1 for Linux support
PA, all you have to do is tick the box that allows EAC to load Linux libraries :]
I don't know if it's as easy as it sounds but...
From: https://boilingsteam.com/enabling-eac-support-on-linux-now-easier/
Game binaries no longer have to be updated, neither does the developer need to opt-in to the latest SDK or use Epic Online Services. If we go to the Steamworks Documentation, enabling EAC support is a three-step process:
- Go into the EAC settings on the EAC partner site and enable Linux support from the dashboard.
- Once that’s done, download the EAC Linux library (easyanticheat_x64.so) for the SDK version integrated with your game, and add it to your depot next to the Windows library (EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll).
- Lastly, on the Steamworks site, publish a new build of your game containing the new depot contents. (You don’t have to make any changes to the game executable, just include the new files in the depot contents.)
Do it already.
Finally got a huge GPU upgrade and would love to play on Linux. Just need PA to enable EAC to use the already-existing linux libraries. I really don't want to dual-boot or install another GPU for a virtual machine. :/
Also the Steam Deck looks really fun!!
