please enable linux EAC, thanks
Please devs, there are many people who have been waiting for EAC support on linux and it is now possible. Until that comes many of us will be playing private servers.
As another Linux user, this is the only game I used to play on windows that still doesn't support Windows. I would prefer to be able to use official means of playing than finding some way that's no good - so please, please, please enable Linux support in EAC.
I wouldn't mind not having to boot into Windows to play BDO... c'mon devs...
I come back here every once in a while and things still haven't changed. I don't get why they haven't done anything about enabling EAC support for Linux. There's clearly demand for it so why wait
I have switched to a Linux environment on my main PC and thus I am unable to play BDO. I have a Steam Deck also. Please add in Linux support to the game. I have supported your company since day one of the North American launch.
Thank you,
Cageymaru
Just a heads up, BDO is working on linux with the global lab client which now uses xigncode again. The main issue so far is the launcher showing a blank screen, but you can workaround that.
The worst part, to me, is that the game has been proven to run perfectly under Proton (or at least as good as it does on Windows). People have done EAC bypasses and run the game just fine (until they got banned), and private BDO servers that use the same client but with EAC disabled run great.
All PearlAbyss would have to do would be to enable the Proton EAC module and it would run fine. It's not like we're expecting a native release, or even dedicated support. We just want to at least *attempt* to run the game.
Please, let's make this happen
I thoroughly and wholeheartedly agree with everyone here when I say that PearlAbyss is really missing out on not porting Black Desert Online over to Linux. As a new Linux user who just switched over from Windows 10 several months ago, I really do miss BDO and would love to play the game again. With the rise of Valve's Steam Deck sales in addition to all the players who own's a copy of BDO wishing to play the game on their Steam Deck's, it would I think be rather foolhardy for PearlAbyss not to build a native Linux port of BDO.
Please make it happen so Linux and Steam Deck users alike can once again enjoy this beautifully crafted great game!
