Trying to understand the mindset of some players

Yesterday, I was moving some trading goods from Old Wisdom Tree to Valencia.

Halfway there, I noticed a player in ghillie turning on pvp and then he kept humping my horse with Q for nearly 5 minutes (yes, it almost took that long!) before realizing I was on a lvl 11 character (which cannot be attacked in pvp). I'm glad I chose a low level alt to move my trade goods, but I can imagine lots of players in this game lost good amounts of money due to this behaviour.

It made me wonder:

- What's going on within the minds of such players?

- Where's the benefit or fun from destroying millions of silver of a random player who did nothing wrong to you?

- Why do people go out of their way to ruin someone else's day for no reason?

I give you again same answer:

Why do you think 99% of new players leave in the first or second month of the game?

This is one of the answers: no one is going to play and waste their time with unwanted pvp.

Even 80% of players want to remove open pvp from the game / divide the game into pve and pvp channels (but ..... we have pvp channel - Arsha, so on the remaining open pvp should be turned off the same as for the season).

Because they can. One of the reasons most MMO's moved away from forced open world PvP is that certain players will go out their way to make others miserable and get a reaction. Usually they end killing the game, or a certain aspect of it, in the process since your average joe will just move on.

Yeah. Happened to me something simillar one time year ago while afk-riding from point A to point B with a poorly geared class I can't play. I screenshotted his name so I can remember him and looked for additional info. Funny how sometimes I never see them for the second time, when I am on a class I can play. By the time I arrive at the place they are already gone. But it doesn't mean I will forget it.

Oh well. Honorless cowards always run away, when they're about to meet their better. :)

Same as bullying, low morale/aducation human beings, sadly "twitch culture" is very much promoting such behaviors in general.

Which part of killing AFK player is PVP ? At your logic beating up unconscious person is MMA fight ? When an actuall MMA fighter going to kick your ass, hope you will enjoy it and call it fair fight.

In general players  looking for "PVP" in which they know they can't lose, so they can make "content" of how they winning, mostly that because of human nature i guess, some humans are mistake of parenthood.

Also BDO is very much especially targeted such public, thier original plan was to milk those type of players by providing them money advantages ( which i do believe they don't hide in initial Korean introduction), its just happens BDO have no competitors and they grew up big.

I mean, i understand the anger or disappointment in other players if they attack you for no further reason but to be fair - That's the possibility they're given.
It's not like they abuse anything, they just do stuff that is intended to do.
So there is no reason to blame them, if they do so.
Maybe this person thought u were AFK and he has a personal warfare against afk players? who knows.
And to be honest, i'm guilty of that aswell. I don't mind AFK players, but if u do so - you should not cry if i shoot you off your fucking horse and cancel your autorun with it. That's the deal with being AFK.
So i have mixed feelings on this and i understand both sides, but you should never try to understand hostile players. They're hostile to be hostile. Even i have those moments where i just want to pvp everything i see, and so i do.

This is one of the answers: no one is going to play and waste their time with unwanted pvp.

Even 80% of players want to remove open pvp from the game / dive the game into pve and pvp channels

So, where u took those 80% from? Are u related to this Lhh guy by coincidence?

My personal opinion on that is, BDO screams right in your face "I'M A PVP GAME, NOTHING IS SAVE, LETS GET OBLITERATED, WOOOOHOOOO".
It's not like the game would try to hide that in any way.
Imagine playing animal crossing and complaining about the lack of pvp mechanics.
I knew what i was going for, so i can't complain afterwards.
And yeah, bdo was never sold as social-familyfriendly-peaceful adventure, which takes you out for dinner and after 3 glasses of wine, it asks you for permission to make love. No. BDO fucks on the first date, permission or not.
So as much as i understand the frustration: If you can't deal with it, it might be the wrong game for you then

Its and MMO. YOu meet people, and some people like to griefe. Its not often so its not big deal. And because there was not so very clever idea to remove PvP from the game, we shoud remove PvE too ? BEcause you know there are a lot of PvE griefings too.

Well get a spine or play singleplay games....

I don't understand this.  Why would you waste the time to run trade goods from Old Wisdom Tree to Valencia when trade wagons exist?

The second part, you claim it took him 5 minutes to figure out that you were on a sub 49 character?

Your entire post screams of BS.
