i prefer to do it in wood or at town than in house

which female undies ?

I tested this out.  You can only "wear" undies in your house.  I was in a party with a friend, went inside and changed, came out of the house in my underwear and he told me, "No. I see you fully clothed." .  I can stand on my second floor balcony in Heidel (near the fountain) and he sees the undies.  So these undies are just for little boys such as you to be pervy.  I have the free bikini from last summer event, you cannot ride a mount, must remain in town and when you leave town the bikini is gone and replaced by your clothes.  It makes me laugh a bit when they make the female breasts jiggle like they are two waterballoons attached to their chest.  This makes me question, if the game developers have ever been with a real woman?

I am not a prude, I am fine with all you little men and your social issues paying for the game in this fashion.  I am into fashion and would like to see more male fashions.  BDO needs more real men to bring balance to the force.   Anyone telling BDO to stop making classes is out of touch with the developer's reality, it just won't happen.  On average they released 2 to 3 classes per year since the second year.  During 2019 (covid) they only released the Shai.   Personally I am "all set" on my classes, so I am waiting on fashions.

As for gender, it would be nice if they would make the option to do this within the character creation.  While I am informed by experts it is not a "simple fix", there is a solution available.  If you Google a free program called "Make Human" it creates simple human models with sliders and both male and female sliders.  A word of caution, for the prudish ones, this program will allow gentiles but defaults to neuter (Ken and Barbie).  I tried this program and found the editing very simple to go from male to female, it covers age too from zero to 80.  There is probably too much fine detail in this program to use this for any MMO, but it shows this is a real possibility.

The outfit options like show underwear or hide cape are glitchy af due to their garbage engine can't even sync simple features like these.
But generally the normal underwear ain't displayed outside the residence for others, while the bikini ones should be displayed for everyone, even without party.

Regardless just cause you could use panties everywhere, and fight in it, the overwhelming majority of the players would still wear regular outfits. Like you can be in your panties in wow ever since it exits, yet 99.9% of the players still not run around in their underwear. It's a pointless restriction that is only exits due to PA's stupidity.

As much as I like to meme BDO for not improving much in the past eon, I just want to point out that BDO was the studio's first project and it started out indie if I remember correctly. This was their first game engine and it's not easy to do. As a programmer I know the trials it would take to some degree but haven't ever been on a massive engine project like this but have worked with a few game engines.

To say BDO is a "garbage engine" is a bit much. I'd say it was an excellent first attempt since there was nothing like it in 2014 or whenever it was first unveiled. Even today, it stands against the test of time and aged far less graphicall than other MMOs which says something.

I may loathe the director of the game for squandering on what could have been the greatest MMO experience of all time and RNGing the crap out of the game, and doing almost nothing with the game for the past few years... But I can't say I'm not impressed by what they were able to accomplished. They also amassed a fortune and were able to build the biggest gaming studio in Korea. Games are hard to build especially MMORPGs.

With that said, I think that if they openly communicate with us like Live Letters do in FF14 and publish heart to heart messages on what they are working on and why things are hard then that would make them 10000x more respetable in my eyes. They have CalpheON -but- they talk about a couple of mundane things that nobody is asking about in the Q&A part.

Maybe then we could feel less stressed about the concept of adding more classes to the game or whatever if they would just openly communicate with us, I think.

There was engine on the market that are better than bdo's even when it released. It's not hard to create a game that is good looking... it's simply not important for a multiplayer game. It's a design decision. If your game can run on potato, then the amount of potentional players you have is higher, hence your revenoue is higher aswell. I hope you not think that a company, that prints more money in a mere two year, than what the whole bdo genre made so far couldn't afford this graphic quality, if they would think it's important?

Also for an mmo the gameplay is the most important, and not being pretty looking. Like you can boast about how good bdo looks, but too bad you're forced to set everything to low to actually play it kek....

I would also like to highlight, that bdo is only that good looking if you look at from far. The overall estatic is okay, however if you zoom in, the character models have terrible topology, hence they blend badly. The textures are meh quality wise and you can see compression artifact here and there....

Defiently, for an indie company it's good, but it's not that great if you look at the whole market. Also PA devs aren't top, heck they are straight bottom tier, that is clearly visible from the lazzy, notcaring solutions that they usually do. They exactly behave as the avarage unmotivated, unskilled, underpaid leftover devs, that are lazzy to work, and not even care, they just do the bare minimum to be done and rather add an annoing popup than adress the issue, even if it going to hurt the user experience...

Also what would you accomplish if they would communicate more? Most of the stuff they say is lie or BS, what would you earn if they would lie more to you? Just cause they would communicate, it doesn't mean that they would add/fix anything we ask.

You can go and check their communication on the class rework forums. They created topics (some topic created a month after the changes hit ptr), and then completely ignored all the feedback. There was absolutely no f given...

I am not one to explain 3D engines or programming, my husband is the developer in the family.  He is the typical "neckbeard geek" and we met back in 1989 at a D&D campaign in his kitchen... so I married him.  He has been a advid believer there will be no MMO that can best paper and dice at the kitchen table.  He has told people many times, PCs, servers, and software is limited and there is no limit to the human imagination.  He says, "ALL game engines are just tools.  It is only how you use the tools at your disposal."

The original World of Warcraft engine is very limited and was made in 2004, the models have oven mits for hands.  The Guild Wars engine in 2005, came out with more eye candy, costumes, hands with fingers, mixing dye on clothes, etc..  In 2009, Cryptic released Champions Online with tons of costume parts, vast color palette, and cel-shaders.  Every year another engine replaces last year's engine by leaps and bounds.   What do you have after the eye candy wears off?  The last time I checked on Guild Wars (original not the sequel) they still have a following of thousands of players, they still sell the trilogy as a digital download (buy to play), and they still PvP in Factions.  The reason people are there? They have a very good story.  It takes you about 100 hours of solid game play to do the entire story, however it is still pretty good game for a $50 price tag.  This is just one example of how the meat and potatoes of the best games is in the lore.

Yes vkobe, those are the undies.  You can take all the screenshots you like.  In fact, I understand there is a screenshot contest, go hug a pink tree and maybe you will win!

Have fun!

If you want to know what was available at the time for MMORPGs, why don't you look at MMORPGs in 2012 and tell me they looked better. Because I guarantee you, BDO was ahead of its time since that's what the hype was about in 2014. You can't just use a single player or co-op game engine and expect to make an MMORPG out of it. When the game drops in framerate, it's not necessarily because it's poorly made. Yes, they could optimize the rendering engine and all that... But you're very limited because it is an MMORPG and it must process a lot more data than normal single player games. Because of this, you will never see a MMORPG look as good as a AAA single player game. You would run out of memory FAST
