Prior to adding Liana's Tool Bag to the game, whichever tool you had equipped was the one that you used when you pressed R to gather. However, with the addition of Liana's Tool Bag, this is no longer the case even if you're not using Liana's Tool Bag. For instance, if you try to gather lizard hides with a tanning knife, nothing happens, because the game defaults to the fluid collector. You're forced to select the correct tool using the corresponding F key instead of just being able to gather with the tool that you currently have equipped. Please make it work like it did before when you're not using Liana's Tool Bag. It makes no sense that you would have to select a different tool when gathering when you only have the one tool equipped rather than the tool bag, and it's extremely annoying.

They rushed this to live servers without going through some simple scenarios.  

For example; If you use F5 or F6 on your hotbar for anything, the tooltip for gathering to change tools is BLANK.  You cannot select away from the default tool at all, despite the tool you want to use being the only tool you have on you.  

Now the patchnotes mention how you can use the mouse scrollwheel to toggle tools as well, which is neat and all, but there is no mention of this in game. There is no tooltip saying that using the mouse scrollwheel is an option to toggle through tools.  So if you didn't know that from the patchnotes, which nobody will a week from now, and certainly new players won't know, the option to gather will literally break for you if you assigned F5 or F6 for any other use in the game and the default tool selected isn't the one you desire to use.  You're going to have to stumble upon the mouse scrollwheel option or just never gather? lmao
