Is it really a bad fishing event or is fishing just dead content? Thing is with fishing in this game is it just a means to afk make silver without actually playing the game. If PA disabled the ability to afk fish how many people would still even bother with this life skill? I can't image more than maybe 10 people in the entire game TBH.

So ya the only reason people are saying it a bad event is because it not making them X silver per hour compared to the kou event. So ya fishing in BDO is actually dead content as in no almost one actually does active fishing, if PA disabled the ability to afk fish tomorrow everyone would be selling all their fishing gear hours before it gets disabled an the content would be as dead as the trading life skill. The fishing life skill like the trading life skill need a complete overhaul from the ground up, having the ability to leave your game running in the background while it plays it self shouldn't be the only factor that preventing fish from completely dying out.

I agree. Fishing and trading should definitely receive a buff. I am one of the few people who enjoy active fishing and an overhaul would not be so bad.

It's a terrible fishing event compared to every other fishing event I've seen in this game. The drop rate is garbage. It would have been far better had they just done the silver horn fish event again, or if they'd continued the pouch event that they just ended but had it only for fishing instead of for gathering and grinding as well.

Whether fishing needs an overhaul or not has nothing to do with whether this event is bad or not. Other fishing events have been good even with whatever issues fishing in general has.

The fishing event is bad because fishing in this game is poorly an lazyly designed. What determines if a fishing event is good? If it increase how much silver you make while afk fishing. Well what if PA just had an event that just gave us free silver for logging into the game based on the average silver people usally make off the pervious koi event? Would that event be consider good or bad?

If fishing had depth to it PA could actually make  fishing events that are interesting an fun that people actively take part in not just leaving the game on overnight so the game can play it self, but no like inland trading fishing in this game has zero depth it just equip fishing rod walk up to water press space bar tab out of game an let the game play it self. How can you design a good in game event when no one actively playing the game to begin with? It simple you can't so why is this fishing event bad? Because it doesn't make people X silver per hour compared to koi. That the end of it people are only unhappy with the event because they aren't racking in 50-100m a night via afk fishing, but if PA decided next patch to just buff the sell price of all fish by 1000% well would that change how people see fishing? No they'd still just only fish by leaving their PC on overnight while the game plays it self, maybe more people would start afk fishing overnight, but no one would suddenly start decicating the time they do spend in game to actively fish.

Fishing events are a cheap way to inflate the player numbers nothing more. Having such events in an mmo is bad in the first place, they should reward active play and not burning the electricity...
