I like it and great presentation format! Glad you edited / bumped your thread from a year ago, I think we should be having a lot more discussions regarding this topic as a whole.

This is one of the best ideas for a gameplay feature that I've seen here. One of the best things about this game is its interesting world, and this would be a great way to get people interested in exploring it, scavaging around, and even put a little more interest in the lore. I hope Pearl Abyss tries to implement this or something similar!

I didn't read this post since it's from 2021 and being revived...

But there's already a re-work in place for Trading and this system as a whole. It was supposed to be released after Calpheon Ball but was delayed due to some issues with the pricing system. I'm sure within 2023 it'll be implemented!

Sorry about the revive :( I wasn't sure whether to start an entirely new thread or rework this one, but this was from back in early 2021 before they had implemented the adventurer's feedback board, so I figured I'd give it another chance. Plus there's some good ideas in the comments here :)

Also, the still-upcoming trade rework (which was teased to release back in late 2021) is exactly why I'm bringing this topic up again. I've only found a little bit of information regarding price rebalancing and a new trade politics system, neither of which seem redundant to a more exploration-focused mechanic like this. This is meant to be supplemental to the current trade system, not a replacement.

Love the idea and would like to see it in-game in future BUT along with "re-worked" trading available on tagged character (just don't allow swapping tagged chars if trading item is on one of them and vice versa)  :) otherwise rip...

No need to apologize! When I replied to that earlier post it showed this hasn't been edited for some time, now that I see it was edited not so long ago I'll be sure to read the post when I'm able and edit this reply with my thoughts! You can tell I'm fine with this post being revived because I didn't post my usual cat gif on revived threads lmao.

I think it's a good idea for this kind of topic to still circulate, that way Pearl Abyss is aware that players are still interested in this re-work. They haven't given any further information on what's being done with the re-work but they did mention the delay of it back in Calpheon Ball. This is something that's desperately needed, I remember seeing tons of wagons being used for trading on the road and people always begging for wagon sales and now Trading is a dead Lifeskill.

Having thread like this with other users posting their ideas would be fantastic, that way P.A. is able to see a type of concept players are looking for and hopefully they're able to work to bring us something balanced and well-worth trying within this year.

I would love to see this idea implemented!  I like the questing aspect of it, and it would be a cool way to get to know and build Amity with traders/collectors.

I gladly support any activity that doesn't focus exclusively on mob grinding or afking somewhere. The world is too big (and very low res currently) to only see Amerigo all day, or centaurs or dead orcs or...

I would very much want, though, for PA to improve their way of placing knowledge spots and other interactable objects in the world. The run-from-pixel-to-pixel task, in the attempt to gather all the entries in Atoraxxion was very much unpleasant, seeing how there was barely any hint at all as to why and where some lore drop could be.

Otherwise, I see only positives in having more stuff to, find trade for, play with. And it would also help to rebalance the trend of streamlining lifeskilling activities. And by "streamlining" I mean gutting (see the Training profession).

Very much agree, that's a good point for a big QoL thread. I think most of the gatherable objects are probably fine, at least I haven't really run into any major issues with them. The knowledge spots on the other hand could really use some help x.x I've had so many friends get frustrated during questing simply because it was really unclear what they were supposed to be interacting with. Just a slight shimmer on the object or perhaps a sparkling effect would be a big improvement.
