Hello
I'm only three days into the game, but I must say that I'm really enjoying it. I've created a seasonal character and I'm doing the main quests.
I find the game extraordinarily complex, but I think that's part of what makes it special in a way.
My character is called TarValia (my family will eventually be called TarFam), I haven't looked for a guild yet, because I don't think I have anything to offer, and I want to enjoy it without too much hassle.
By the way, I'm a colonel (Res.), I'm fifty years old and I've been playing Eve Online for a few years. Now I wanted something different.
Forgive me if this is not the best place to introduce myself. I couldn't find a more suitable forum.
Regards
Vincent
Happy to have you sir! I recommend joining a newbie friendly guild, that should spice up ur already positive experience
Welcome aboard, man! :)
Welcome aboard, comrade!
If I had to keep a single hint about BDO, it would be this one : TAKE YOUR TIME!
There are many things to do, each of them will not give you the same income but what's important is that you do activities which please you. If you begin to do activities not for fun but because someone told you it was the best income, you may get bored really quickly. Well, coming from Eve you probably know what it means to be dedicated to a game.
Soooo... Have fun, that's the most important ! ;)
welcome!
Ret player here, enjoying the game again :3
Welcome, and enjoy it while you can. BDO will challenge you to try and change things up to keep from getting bored. Of course the PVP side is frustrating because it potentially breeds toxicity. Like most MMO's new players just cannot stack up to the years of long time players who have poured themselves into this game and who have better gear, experience, etc. So, areas for grinding lucrative resources will be contested and you could be shut out from those areas due to competition, thus slowing your progression...but you'll learn all of this as you play, or eventually just quit.
But good luck!

Well, he played Eve, so I think the little conflicts in BDO may even seem childish to him.
