This is the most pathetic part of the situation... that probably 90% of players are dudes and so many of them are such cucks they want to be represented as a woman in their fantasy game. Just one of the reasons I stopped playing KR games. They're all stupid in this exact way. I guess its worse over in KR than the US, but it's apparently not much better.
IDK man, you sound like the soyboy cuck here, not the men who're actually interested in looking at women lmao.
I love it, but I don't play male classes so I'm biased. Though a male class would be nice so I can catch my breath in a way.

I think there is a difference between being interested in looking at women and playing as women in an online game.
Some men don't like to role-play as women in an online game for several reasons and BDO is an online game.
Sure, some don't mind to and some even prefer to but what they prefer should not be forced on the other side of players, both sides should have their preferences respected.
There were equal alternatives on both sides but not anymore by a large margin.
This is the issue being discussed here.
Issue is that some people "roleplay" an alter ego character while other just "gameplay" aka not identifying with the char as themselves but rather see it as a tool. Both ways are fine and I agree btw though I like looking at my DK that there is a definite lack of male classes to make it fair for anyone´s choice. More diverse, non locked classes and races would be a great thing to have. It is 2023 after all.
It would be easier to choose a class and then male or female. That's it, i dont understand why any class must only be for a specific gender anyway.

Some of the choices don't even make sense at all, like I fathom not the wisdom behind a male being unable to be a Dark Knight or a Guardian, or how male Shai are all over the place but you can only play it as a female.

While that would be the logical thing to do, it's less effort for them to not make counterparts.
If they would have decent design on architectural level, it would be easy to have male and female for every class. In most western mmo this is the case, however KR devs are usually less skilled, and since they usually use third party assets for quick, cheap work, their current system usually not fit for this. It's usual for KR games to have different body for every class, even if they are only slightly altered. This makes their system less modular and require much more effort to add a new class, so they usually optimalize out the male classes since 90% would pick the female anyway.
And as bdo stands now, it's unrealistic to expect them to change how the characters handled at this point. While it would be an improvement on many aspects, it's unlikely to happen.

There are no male DK's, at least yet, lore-wise. Guardian is a female giant, so Berzerker is "male Guardian" in this sense. IMO, would've been cool if Shai was the class we could choose gender on...the class was designed to be unique (orignally zero PVP DPS, comes with lifeskill perks, etc.), so making Shai gender choosable matches that rationale. But it wasn't designed that way, for better, worse, or neutral.
There are tons of reasonings that people have presented here as to why classes are gender specific in BDO.
McMolin should read through the thread if they want to understand.

"KR devs suck, it'll be too much effort, they make females to milk money".
Yep, never mind reasons that have evidencial backing to those blanket statements. Super good faith arguments on your part. Bravo.
