You know... 

For awhile now every character you release is 40 years old in some way.

- yes they might have the head of someone young

- but not the body

- or they might have the body, but the height of an olympic athlete 

If you want to find something the universally turns people off here are a few such things:

- Genshin Impact: What character is "me" when I have no character option to play as myself to begin with?

- Final Fantasy XIV: What character is "me" when each them is a goofy cartoon mash of cath person and glob-elf

- World of Warcraft: What even are these characters supposed to be? So ugly!

- Bethesda games: Don't even try to make a character without extensive mods

BDO has largely avoided being in the "ugly" family of games:

- but every new character seems to go up 10 years in age since the guardian game out.

Woosa was my high school Sensai. No joke. They look identical to her.

Maegu could be a couple of my older counsins or aunt. 

I'm struggling to find someone my own age to play at this point beyond Tamer and Sorc. DK kind of looks like my mom. Ranger maybe, but when did Ranger do damage? Mystic is kind of okay. I mean, she's not entirely outside the range of possilbe futures for how I might look in the near term.

Point being... "being" in a game is at least part "being" something identifiable. I realize that populations are declining all over the world and so maybe the market is becoming something where older and older people will be playing games, but there's still going to be those of us coming through behind them. How about a few more characters our own age and proportions? Some of us do actually go running and jogging - care about our health - and what not? Cute doesn't have to be perverse. It can be permissible. It's not something to be shunned.

Anyway, it's be nice to have the slider bars let us get to the ages of 18 to 23 instead of 38 to 43, as things seem to be heading. 

- And please don't head off into something weird with it either like Type A and Type B like Hogwarts, etc. Stay away from the Western stuff. You've been such a good company for letting us look quite a lot of ways. It just seems like lately things are in a strange place. Drak was bigger than the horse when sitting on her. That made sense for the Guardian, but it's really jarring when you get on a horse you'd have for years and dwarf it. The whole sense of "me" being "in the world" just kind of drops dead. I ended up deleting the Drak that day. Never imagined I would do that. I enjoyed the Drak, but that's just a bridge too far. If I wanted to be that big? Okay. That I have to be? No options? ...What? No.

So many things are like this now in MMOs and in games. It's like when a game goes through and removes Asian character model features because it's a Western market. Good for the Westerns, but what if we're Asian? Conversely, this is an Asian game so why can't we have our own physical models reflect that as an option? So few of the characters permit it. And it's not like there's even a remote chance of another MMO coming out OR single player that has it. You are the only company out there and we love you for it. That being said... the characters keep getting old and stranger. Let us have the option to have normal body heights and not so heavy. Let us be younger instead of in our late 30s or early 40s.

Dude this game is playable with 16 years....and non of the classes looks like they are between end of 30 and 40....wtf. Valk, Sorc, Tamer, Shai, Maehwa and Witch look super young from their face. Its more of a struggle to make them look more adult and less like 16. 

If you are unhappy how your character looks, work on your chara creations kills. You can literal make ur Character any age you want that is over 16 basically. 

Yeah sure there could be some more body sliders, but character high is pretty good range. Could work on the boobslider to make it possible to get it smaller, but overall its also very good.

And arent like 1/3 of our classes asian looking? Even if not, you can pretty much make them look asian if you want to. Saw an awesome asien schoolgirl style on a Nova that looked 0% western.

BelleAtwell I understand what you are saying.  You like a diverse character base to choose from, BDO is about the most diverse in online fantasy to this day.  Fantasy games have always been about stepping out of yourself and role-playing someone you are not like but wish you could be.  At times, I wish BDO character editor wasn't so restrictive, but then some people don't know when to stop themselves.  Some users on the forums complain about limitations of appearence, yet with a little imagination you can make up just about anything.  For example; I hope to read more about the Calpheon Ratts someday, maybe the author will continue it.  I hope they do.

I started with D&D in the 80's and moved into the online electronic realm with Guild Wars. If you just sit at the D&D table, rattle dice, and talk about stats on your character sheet, you might as well be playing some mundane board game.  Fastasy games begins with your imagination and we all know the world of the imagination has no limits.
