on steam it is 2 weeks maximum, after 2 weeks enjoy your new item you bought ^_^

seem they dont have limit on how many refund you can do while the 2 weeks, but what i read if you abuse with this system they will stop to accept your refund

That's not correct.

Games and software you buy on steam, can be refund in 2weeks, if you used it for less than 2hours.

For ingame purchases, only valve developed games do offer refund, and only within 48hours, and only if they are not used, which is actually worse than what PA gives. (Non valve games on steam have their own refund policy regardign this.)

Also the first one is a groverment regulation (partly) in some countries, however ingame purchases bought by proxy curency usually not regulated.

I agree that the refund system is fine as-is but man... There are some instances where the game tricks you into buying non-refundable pearl items such as Elion's tears. I shed tears on that day... I knew the moment it automatically did the checkmark thing when i ran out of tears and i press OK, I had screwed up. Of course, no refund was given on that day. But it is what it is. Worst part? I have like 200 of those tears on other characters AND I died immediately after buying one. I feel like I bought two actually by mistake. Didn't notice since the warning screen looks the same as the one where you lose XP.

I like the idea of having 2 refunds and a bonus one that you collect over time like Thyrnan recommended. Seems reasonable :X

100% important detail that people may not notice. PA has no requirement to offer pearl refunds by law as long as it's not A-Coins. Meaning after you exchange A-Coins to Pearls, there is no law under most juridiction to refund anything. In some (rare) countries, you may be required to have a triple layer currency but I don't think PA serves any country that requires this.

We are fortunate that they allow us to have up to 2 refunds per month. This is generous for a game that uses a "proxy currency". This isn't to say that a third refund wouldn't be awesome as a rare occurance but PA is there to make money and it's not a subscription game.

Steam is a platform with thousands of games and millions of active users, their refund system would drain Pearl Abyss. It's a good refund system for the type of company they are, but that's not something that'll ever be implemented for an MMO.

steams refund system is damaging to smaller developers because of the 2 hour gameplay thing that allows players to play a game for 2h and get their money back even if they completed the entire game within that 2h.

i never talk about item like pearl item, but only what you buy directly from steam, not ingame item like game currency for example pearl, tera enmasse point

Alright, correct me if I am wrong. I think a lot of people here are kind of not in the clear here. Once you buy A-Coins, convert them into a Pearl Box of your choice and open said Pearl Box, refund time back into A-Coins (real cash for that matter) is over unless PA is having a good day and decides to play Croesus or future country regulations require them to do so and I am sure they're not going to budge even then. Even tells you that in the tooltip for Pearl Box in big fat red. For all it matters people could refund items a trillion times, because all they're getting back is pearls, a virtual/proxy currency created out of thin air. Their money is stuck in this currency vacuum, forever, no matter what. By refunding items they're not leaving this vacuum or undoing any conversion. PA does not loose money over this (considering sensible pearl refund requirements, which most of them enforced by PA are.)

The only way PA could loose a sliver of their income is, if the refund grace period is absurdly long and people consistently snipe deals during events, and as a result of that behavior buy less pearls.

7-days is way too long of a grace period for a company like PA. Daum/Kakao Games, the company that used to publish BDO for EU/NA, refunded any pearl item back into pearls in a 72hr period, no questions asked, on a trust basis. Kakao Games is uhh.. significantly bigger tho. So PA is kind of being lenient on the wrong end here with their 7-days grace period.

EDIT: I also think that reworking refunds one way or another is going to be beneficial for overall support quality since it'll free up manpower from answering useless fucking refund tickets which make up like 80% of traffic I wager. Hell, there is a goddamn manual refund system that's being rate limited to hell and back. They could literally just rip out the whole refund section over at support if it was just a little different.

While the refund system Steam offers is heaven for remorse buyers and customers alike, it's simply unsustainable for PA. 2 weeks is waaaay too long. Honestly, with where I am at right now, I'd like to see unlimited refunds in a 48hr - 72hr period. It's more than enough time to realize potential errors or accidental purchases and correct them that way.

Let's try to not deviate too far from topic though!
