Twitch is the pripriety of Amazon. So it's not really better. Facebook, twitch, twitter, whaterver... All those are crap. Generally speaking, either you really want what those "events" or drops have, and then you go with the flow, or you just dispense from attending.

Personnaly, I use none of those, and skip all the "leave the video open in the background with muted sound and collect your stuff at the end" bullshit. Simple slution to a simple problem.
