I dont have any ideas on who and why decided everybody definitely MUST know about some other player somewhere did something, and spam us with flashy blinding popups every minute, disrupting our gameplay and blocking our view. That person probably should learn that worst thing a business can do to themselves is to annoy its customers. As if those Whale and Grudge and World Bosses announcements werent enough of annoyance, not to mention every single hard/sharp/tuvala_ore drop, I can barely see what is happening around me. This needs to end.
Logged in today, left after 5 minutes. Don't have much time to play, but wanted my loyalty anyway.
During those 5 minutes, my screen was CONSTANTLY flashing with fucking calamity anouncements. Probably some new world boss that died killed by a bunch of people, and the game thought important to queue each and every notification to make sure I wouldn't miss a single one of those.
So let's make it clear : I don't give a rat's ass about who does what. I don't care at all if some person I have never heard of before and most likely never will again kills a boss I haven't even heard of either. Good for them, better even if they are first, congrats on that, but why should I care ?
Also note that I spent almost as much time posting this as I spent in game, so yeah, this issue is kinda rubbing me the wrong way.
We understand that the Boss Defeated notification is distracting, but since it is an alert that only appears for the first successful defeat of the boss, we hope you'll understand that the notification will only be this frequent due to the nature of it being the first day of Land of the Morning Light's release. We ask for your understanding and we'll try to keep this in mind for future updates.
Kind Regards.
Wait a second... are you saying that we will know about EVERY player doing it? All the next ones? All the new players too? Everyday?
But... why?
Just give us an option to turn it off please...
Seriously!
I dont need to "understand" anything, I want my screen clear of ANY popups except those I explicitly marked as acceptable in the Settings. Those include this Calamity spam, Whale, Dawn Druges or whatever, every single non-grey item drop, quest start/completion, Dark Rift open, World Boss, You have better gear, Gift from me open it fast, you name it.

My question is what is the purpose of it all? What do i do with this "[player] has defeated a [boss]" notification? what purpose does it server other than annoying and distracting other players? Do i like congragulate them for defeated a boss? like what?
One notification for each class for each boss for each level. 26 x 8 x 7. = 1456. Notifications. In. The. Middle. Of. The. Screen.
The good news is that they will stop. And then start again when the next five bosses and next three levels appear. But the positioning is terrible. Suddenly can't see what I'm doing as I'm rounding a corner at a cliff top at full speed. And everything else.
And the stupid part is that sometimes, rarely, I am interested to see what the notification says - and it is removed before I can make out all the text among the flash.
I guess it could be a bit of an reward thing for those accomplshing it. And it offers some in-game self-promotion for the game itself. But it could have been handled with much more finesse.
Sadly I must admit some copmanies and their corresponding dev/design/UI/UX teams are totally incapable of predicting the effects of their decisions, and managers who approved those decisions into production bear responsibility. This blinding Calamity spam without option to disable it, along with other popups, was a huge dent into leftovers of PA's reputation. Wonder if there will be any employment consequences for this mess. If I'd be CEO and I saw forum threads like this - heads would roll next morning.
