Abundantias Travel Log Vol. 18 - A Morning Light Journey

Dear Diary,

It's been quite some time since my last entry, but here we are again.

Every time I pass through Dalbeol Village, I can't help but notice the opulent mansion of the Choi family. It's more like a palace, a testament to the hard work of the honorable Choi. However, when asked about the source of his wealth, he remains tight-lipped, as if hiding something. Initially, I didn't think much of it. After all, who doesn't enjoy keeping secrets? I, too, keep my own strategies, like the enhancing of Manos accessories, a secret. But as I delved deeper into the Land of the Morning Light, the Choi family's behavior became increasingly suspicious.

And now, I find myself standing in the shadow of a maehwa tree, silently observing the Choi family mansion, my weapon at the ready. Will I have the opportunity to bring peace to the people?

But before we delve into that, let me recount how I ended up here. It has been an extraordinary journey thus far, and where better to document it than in my diary?

You may be wondering how I even arrived at this point, and truthfully, I'm not entirely certain myself. My younger sister, Aunarie, stumbled upon a travel guide to an exotic kingdom called the Kingdom of Haso in a trash can at Crows Nest. The guide boasted about the beauty and cultural wonders of "Port Ratt," complete with enticing promotional images.

At first glance, I was captivated. I decided to tear out the cover image and embark on the adventure using the Magnus. I believed Wuju could assist me in reaching my destination. Little did I know that when he said, "Port Ratt, you say? Haven't you heard? They rebranded it! It's now the land of the Morning Light," it meant more than just a name change. Who could have anticipated the literal moving of mountains and islands?

And so, here I found myself, stranded on a new continent. What a misleading turn of events! Looking back, it explains why the travel guide ended up in the trash.

But let us continue. Upon arrival, my friend Yeonhwa warmly welcomed me. How she knew of my coming remains a mystery. She introduced me to a charismatic man named Dolswe, though his face was marred by a prominent circular wart. At times, it appeared as if it were painted on, given its flatness. Yeonhwa and Dolswe guided me to the immigration office, where I registered my stay.

Here is a photo of me, taken by a local dokkebi, as I waited beneath the maehwas.

I still wore the travel wear I received as a gift from Orwen for assisting her that one time. Needless to say, I stood out among the locals, who donned more exotic attire.

Moving forward, Yeonhwa sent me on a journey through the Land of the Morning Light, with the mission to alleviate the grievances of its people. This quest led me through various experiences, including a brief stint in prison and a daring escape through a well. Funny how this wasn't the first time such an escape happened ^^' !

Throughout my travels, I engaged in numerous activities and encountered fascinating individuals and breathtaking locations. Here are a few of my favorites:

Fishing for food

You may notice my new clothes. I discovered them in a chest that proved difficult to open. Employing my trusty Master Matchlock, I managed to shoot it open. Herry would be proud! I encountered a starving man who pleaded for food, so I caught him a plump fish. The way he relished its taste encouraged me to catch a second one for both him, Dolswe, and myself. Speaking of Dolswe, he acted as my travel guide throughout, always by my side when I needed him. Quite a charming individual, except for his repeated insistence that he has a wife in Seoul.

The Cheongsan Institute

The Cheongsan Institute serves as a sort of school, but unlike in my homeland, individuals stay here for many years, immersing themselves in scholarly pursuits. The gazebo where I sit is reserved for the most esteemed scholars. They granted me access due to my resolution of a ghostly mystery. It turned out to be the spirit of a woman who had long awaited her beloved scholar beneath a maehwa tree. It was a truly touching experience, as is this view.

Untold riches of the Dokkebi

Midway through my journey, I stumbled upon the Dokkebi Forest, home to the mythical Dokkebi, a race of small blue creatures. They have their own king and princess. The king's magical weapon was stolen, or rather, he loaned it to a friend who was subsequently assassinated — an unfortunate turn of events. To make matters worse, I was framed for the murder, leading to my imprisonment. Thankfully, the misunderstanding was resolved swiftly. Over time, I grew acquainted with the Dokkebi Princess, who is simply adorable! I couldn't resist granting her request to retire her father, the king, with those pleading puppy eyes.

Constable Abundantia de Auratia

It didn't take long before Dolswe teasingly referred to me as a constable, owing to my strong sense of justice and my impressive outfit! He sneakily captured this picture of me as I admired the sunset near Bari Forest. I must admit, I do look rather charming. Thank you, Dolswe >.> !

Oh, it seems my time is running short, dear diary. Dolswe has prepared honey wine for our celebration. Tomorrow, we confront Lee Duksoo, who appears to be directly or indirectly involved in all the major injustices we've encountered — corruption, exploitation, and even murder. Hopefully, we won't oversleep; that would be quite embarrassing.

Here are a few more photos taken by both Dolswe and me during our journey:

A Date with Osun

Meeting Patrigio

The beauty of Shimnidae Forest

*This final section appears to be added later*

Hey diary, several more days have passed since my last entry, and many remarkable events have unfolded. I find myself a bit bewildered, but I believe I made the right choices during my journey. In the end, I convinced Dolswe, now looking like a new man (must've been the honey wine), to capture one final photo together.

Goodbye, Morning Light! I shall cherish the memories...
