So i have played BDO since beta and i have never been able to fully figure this out, does anyone know if hot barr'd skills do less damage than key combo'd ones per skill use? Now Awk wiz is not the best grinder but still, at 305ap double pen bs awk/mh same buffs, same skill rotation and same add ons for example i take 2-3x longer to kill gyfins vs an awk wiz using key combos doing the exact same rotation, buffs and addons and same ap

I can't key combo due to hand issues but the difference is massive in overall damage and yeah i know combo's flow quicker but the difference seems to be more than just that tbh., Wondering if anyone else has any experience with this/in the similiar situation, i pretty much am forced to do strictly life skills for income due to me getting like half what others make, unless i need/want a treasure item i don't grind just no point.

Hotbarred skills do not do less damage.
They take more mana to cast than normal key inputs iirc (not sure if that was removed at some point, it is too irrelevant for me to notice) and you cannot cancel other skills with it when using it from hotbar, which is the main drawback of using it. The fluent flows / some ending animation cancels you can do via key inputs do not work from hotbar, which makes gameplay a lot more clunky generally.

If you see yourself doing less damage than someone on the same class, watch some videos and see what skills they use in which order. That can make a huge difference, more so than the lack of fluency when using hotbar skills

As usual you reply useless information which was already mentioned, i don't know why or how you became a forum helper being incompetent. As i said i use the same add ons, skill rotation same ap and same potions and i was asking if someone had an answer to this.

Just going to stop using the forums people here don't have the proper IQ to carry on a conversation and i don't have the patience to deal with it.

Losing out on skill damage, no.

Losing out on overall damage-per-second, yes. 

You won't be able to animation-cancel chained skills together as fast, making you lose overall damage over a period of time, but the skills will do the same damage. It also depends on the class entirely. Awakening casters or succession sage will not lose too much damage through hotbar skills as they do not have many animation cancels. 

we REALLY want to use manual inputs for cancels/skill linkages for dps purposes tho.

hellfire chain alone is one big "cancel".

But not the same build? Cool. Crystals matter more than your sheet stats. Now call somebody else useless for trying to relay some information to you just because it's not what you want to hear.

Of course you're killing slower. You aren't taking advantage of skill interactions making skills way slower. Hardcasting Magma bomb alone is a massive DPS loss, let alone the delay between hotkey commands and actual inputs making the distance between each skill even longer.
But no, this has nothing to do with the damage of the skills themselves.

Actually this isn't even true for every skill, as there is skill that can be casted significantly faster from hotkey as it cancels its own animation if you spam it fast enough, while it does not do that from regular input. Although it have no practical use.
