OK so here is a map showing all the fish nodes you can place a worker on:
x
x
This ^ is literally all the fish nodes in the game. They produce 40 types of WHITE GRADE DRIED FISH, here is a screen shot:
x
x
I have looked on the CM to find the rest and there are more than a dozen other fish that are not included in the ocean nodes, here's a screenshot of only one small example:
x
x
So, I am making this post today to illustrate the OVERWHELMING BLOAT of this item category.
x
There is no reason as to why this item situation has gotten so out of control. Fish have their own names and item in-game, but only fall into ONE CATEGORY for recipes and uses.
x
I propose an entire revision of this non-sense item category into simple new types:
WHITE FISH
GREEN FISH
BLUE FISH
YELLOW FISH
RED FISH
x
Fixing this item category will also give substance to cooking categories and be useful in expanding dishes in the future. Currently there are over 45+ unique dried fish items that can be used in only a handful of cooking recipes. This chaos needs to end. Clean this mess up please.

Yeah there is a heavy bloat in all materials, and it was suggested in the past that there is no reason for literately the same item to be on multiple different names, but PA not only did not cared, but they added several more 100% redundant items just to make it even worse.

After drying the fish it should prudece dried fish, high quality dired fish etc. Same for most other materials, there is no reason to have 12 different times of fluor etc. Merge the redundantly duplicated items together.

What are White Fish?  I always assumed that was just trash (though it never filtered it before)

White Fish all became Green Fish at the Great Fishing Update of 2018.

I know its confusing when I say "white grade fish" I am referring to the dried form where you use this for things like cooking.

The game converts all fish into the white grade dried state, and its beyond unfair because most cooking items have a white grade, green grade, and blue grade availble to use for cooking. The grade affects the yield and requried amount for the recipe. So fish are easily the most depricated cooking item.

To make things more confusing, when the game first came out, some of the fish were actually white quality.  Those were all converted to green in the Great Fishing Update of 2018.

When there were white fish, recipes calling for fish would take 1 fresh white fish, but if you used dried fish, you had to use 2 if the fish was originally white (like the mudskipper), but if the fish was originally green, one dried would suffice.

I'm sure if we had recipes that required multiple fish using a blue or a yellow one would also count for multiples, but I can't think of any recipes that require that.

So my proposal would be to consolidate the dried fish into two categories:

- Dried Fish

- Dried Seafood

And the higher the quality of the original, the more "dried" pieces you would get from it, like:

Green: 1-3 dried

Blue: 2-5 dried

Yellow: 5-8 dried

And as a side note, I think having information on the dried fish about whether it's SEAFOOD or FISH is also important.  Currently, you can't tell unless you are looking at the fresh fish.

The whole "fishing" content should be reworked. Fishing, harpoon fishing, sea nodes etc all is in VERY bad state but... PA have problems to make farming seeds stacking in single slot. Now imagine they would rework such big part of the game...

Here I thought this would be a post about the inequity of the fishing spots in town, how Velia makes 25-30m per hour, where as Heidel is 15m, and all other big city spots are 10m per hour afk fishing.
