I've read in a guide online most people get it between 30 to 40 chests. I just opened my 40th...

But I refuse to start dooming until i've reached 50.  I figure worst case scenario I have to open twice that amount which at the rate i'm going should be a further two months... Of course I HAVE already been doing this for months but I was more casual early on, Started at about 30 mins per day, then eventually increased to longer and longer and now i do about 2 hours and half daily there. 

 Definiteky thre worst treasure grind i've done so far. I would imagine second worst after merchant ring, of course. 

I'm at 4, I think. I really don't count these things so much.

I had my piece in the 17th chest, my guildmate opened 91 chests and still doesn't have it :)

And honestly, I would rather grind another merchant ring than another ebenruth :D

every time someone De-mosses a Map, they should just get a 1/1000 pity piece similar to the Ocquila flower except it's simple mfg'd into the Symbol-Engraved Nol

I got mine at 33 but that is way way below average the nol piece drop rates per chest location are as follows:

Oquilla's Eye: 1.0%
Papu Crinea : 0.5%
Ivero Cliff: 0.5%
Kuit Islands: 0.5%

So ideally, you should expect to open between 100-200 chests on average before you get your symbol engraved nol. Each location's chest has different items in them as well.

I've seem these numbers but AFAIK they're not official,  In the guide you can find online they say that according to their data (people reporting to them how many chests they opened)  most people get it between 30 and 40 so youre in the average (but i kinda hate the guy who got it at 17...). I'Ve not heard of anyone going over a 100 (well someone out there is  91 it seems so they might...), it could, in fact must have happened but it would seem to be a tiny minority, if the odds was at 1% it would be a lot more frequent that people need over a 100 and the guide wouldnt report that "most" got it between 30 or 40 unless most people had better than average luck.  Said guide says the odds are probably about 2% and i would tend to believe this.

Anyway i'm at 51 now 8 days after making the thread.  In the drop rate events I can get two maps a day or so.  I have braced myself for the possibility that i will be among the very unlucky but I sure damn hope within two months at the very most i'm done. I do 2 hours and a half a day there or so, killing about 245 margoria fleet ships in that time.

I also count the map pieces, i'Ve got 434 so far and so  this means that i get a full map every 8.5 pieces or so in average which is LESS pieces than you need for a full map but that's explainable because of the instant maps as 17 of these maps were instant fulls maps from de-mossing.  I would say the odds of getting a full map by demoss are likely around 4-5% as I am at 3,9% now and that pêrcentage has fluctuated between 3.5 to 5% . I sholud have counted how many pieces i exchanged with the 2 for 1 quest but I dont have this data, not that it's that important I guess. 

I get all my chest at oquilla's eyes except of course when i can't choose because it's an instant map. Overall i've opened 40  Oquilla chests,  4 kuit, 4 papua, and 3 Ivero cliff.

Oh and also personally not convinced that some locations have better odds than others. If this is data collected by people, which afaik it is, then we can't know that for sure.  Oquilla eye being better could simply have to do with the fact that most people will choose to open that chest because you dont have to go anywhere, which means there would be more data for oquilla eye which means that we'd get a more accurate number on the % (even if i believe it to be 2% and not 1).  I mean everything i say COULD also be wrong, but until we have detailed reliable numbers we're all just guessing.  Of course, if people say they THINK OE is better according to the limited data they have, well it's probably best to open that one.  Which was my reasoning. 

Yeah I agree. I  mean because with the worst luck you WILL need about a 1000 map pieces anyway to get the piece.

Well... which i guess actually means maybe put that pity piece number at like 750 or so.  I mean it would be useless to me if they implemented it now because im way too far deep so i'd still get the piece before i'd get to 750 pity pieces but for anyone grinding this in the future
