Can anyone clarify something for me, and may be other?

Can we still earn these items somehow?

I only have 26, I cannot exchange for cup (200) and it seems also pointless to exchange for "pity" pieces because crafting of cup required 100, are those 26 in my inventory useless now?

The event is over. If the event ever returns, you can get more pities then. 

Exchanging the jewels for shards is perfectly fine - you say it's only 26 out of 100, but what kind of thought process is that? Imagine if you wanted to grind out all the shards to make a cup, it is just like you say you'd need hundreds - so isn't it better to have a 26 shard headstart on one? That isn't useless at all when the cup produced by the shards has a 5b silver value. 

thought process > I look into whole cup description and see "How to obtain" > list of components and amount required.

I guess its just another -1 inventory slot for who know how long...

But you can simple go to elvia and drop more.

Also: today you can faster collect 4b from the trash to buy a cup, even with low ap, than you can drop 100 or 200 of these fragments.

I dont know what 'elvia' is and I'm not a grinder type, I'm more chill lifeskiller and filthy casual.

My friend was saying they did elv and got both drops and it was nice. I made 1 cup, didn't push it hard.  I farm a lot of trash mobs. + event + arsha, etc... end up with a lot of them. But yea the money was just a bonus. +5b isn't bad ontop of what you are gaining. I sold mine for 4.8. I prol shoulda used it haha, but I guess I'm a filthy casual as well.

The event was fine, I made one cup and was short 15 pieces, went to Elvia to get them, now have two cups. The drop rate on Jewel of Imperfect Power was interesting, it certainly made you work for it!

Yeah took about 15 hours of grind for 200, was a pretty good event for the hardcore grinder, ended with 750 jewels. +15b gained.

What they need to do is make more events like these cyclical so that drops from them aren't trash.  Or, as I think is the case, they need to always be exchangable for items of equal effect or worth.
