With the announcement that T5 and lower horses are going to be removed from the game, I wanted to create a space for myself and others to appreciate and memorialize the low-tier horses that we bonded with on our adventure journeys.

For me, the low-tier horse I have the most bond with is a T5 horse named Thunderhoof.

A few years back when I was getting back into BDO, this was the first horse I got that knew drift and instant accelleration. It could be said that I learned to ride on this horse.

Back then I was a Witch player and was re-learning the ropes of the game. I rode this horse to guild boss fights and all over the world of Black Desert. It's carried hundreds of LT in loot for me and died more than once due to my negligence.

Later on when I got faster horses and more experience, I retired Thunderhoof to my cooking/processing main. The past few years have been pleasant and slow for Thunderhoof: enjoying the scenery and slow-life of Calpheon.

Compared to the horses I have now, Thunderhoof is not impressive, but I will still miss him when he's gone.

Goodbye Thunderhoof and thank you for carrying me for so many hours.

If anyone else has a low-tier horse or horses they would like to appreciate or memorialize, please respond to this post.

Thank you all for appreciating Thunderhoof with me

Better yet, they need to not do this at all.  Make them all t6s if they need to, but keep the mounts.

Or replace them with registrations, even, which unfortunately loses the mount name, coat, and its skills and any coupons spent on them.  So even that is not good enough. Just change their tiers if they need to.  Period.

But silver?!?  Seriously?

And confirm that they will at least pause this proposed change and reconsider.  Because if they are really absolutely intent on removing the mounts and selling them for us, I would rather imperial them instead, which means I have some work to do on some of them, and I don't want to actually get rid of them and then have them come back and say "oh, never mind".  Because then I would be demanding that they restore mounts disposed of under false pretenses.

Very poor way of handling this.

Wait, is this serious?! :/ My first main horse is a T4.... One of the main reasons I even liked this game was for that horse. It never even learned Sprint, Instant Accel, or Charge nor did I know anything about those skills yet. But it did learn Drift and it was the coolest thing ever to me. I still vividly remember training him in those dang fields outside Heidel and falling off over and over while my friends did farming nearby. I was literally heart broken when it was finally time to upgrade to a better tier horse X.X I wished I could just upgrade the one forever.

Now he's just going to be deleted like trash? Wtf. But why... He's not hurting anybody >:(

Originally he was called Byssybites but when I got my first Pegasus I named the Pegasus that name so I could at least pretend it was the same horse. While I renamed the actual original to Leo. But he'll always be the Original Byssybites! Please don't delete my favorite horse Q.Q

Yeah, they'll give us 60 million silver, in exchange for our fond friends.

Yep.  The value for all that precious time and memories is nothing in PA's eyes.

Reminds me of when Port Ratt was erased and we were given Nampo.

PORT RATT  REMEMBERS

Doin' good, PA.

Doin' good.

Nooo! I worked really hard to get some of the rarer skills, like the blonde T2 and the two black and white T3s, or the white T4 and red T5...

There are currently 2 threads in the feedback section about this. Feel free to push them up. It won't change anything, but no one will be able to say this was a change we wanted...

I have 3 horses that will soon be deleted that I care about. One is a T4 called Luna. She was the first one I got out of breeding horses. She ended up being quite horrible but I always kept her because it felt like an achievement back then.

Another is a T3 called Varian. He arrived around my first time in the desert so it was quite awful. Note that back then I didn't level horse while being AFK much so I brought him with me. He was more of a problem than anything else. And at some point, I forgot to change horse for a guild activity so I ended being late at every place we went. I did a comic out of screenshots in my guild's discord and he ended up being a recurring character there for some time. I kept him as a souvenir in a stable for a while. Then, when I got an alt in the desert for Nouver, I sent him back there with said alt. The funny part is the alt being a Hashashin, he could run faster on foot than on that T3 on sand. He mostly wait on the big hill next to Nouver now.

Third and most important one is my first main and real horse. A T5 called Zephyr. He's the horse we received at the end of the Balenos quest line. Zephyr was actually a real horse someone living nearby had when I was a kid and so he became the very first horse I've ever ridden and played with until we eventually moved closer to the city a few years later. And now, many years later, it became some kind of tradition in every game where I can name a mount that the very first name I use is always Zephyr. A T5 in the middle of all those lower tiers in the wild felt like it was an amazing horse for new me. With a few skill coupons I had received from events, I was super careful in training him for him to learn the useful skills. It bothered me so much when I learned later on that a T5 cannot become a T6 and so on, but I kept him on my alts and eventually, he became my seasonal horse for every season characters. It's the first time I play a game where the devs randomly decide that Zephy is not allowed to exist anymore.

A last picture of my Zephyr.  T_T

I don't want your silver, PA. Just stop destroying your game.

This makes no sense what does it hurt having them except to force you to now have to buy or train new horses of higher teir also most my low lvl horses are cart and wagon horses are they going to replace them all, stupid move but and im sure it's a money grab somehow..

Kinda meh on BDO in general atm, but when I saw this I was like lul wat. I have low tier horses, of course, but I just don't understand what it is meant to accomplish. And why would they leave the tier system after deleting the early numbers?

I would say 'our' game, anyway. :)

"Zephyr" is a great name for a horse, by the way : )

Update: The announcement was changed:

> Tiers 1 to 5 horses will not be deleted during the Mar 20, 2024 (Wed) maintenance as previously announced and are scheduled to undergo a different process.

 > For details of the new process, please refer to the Mar 20, 2024 (Wed) Patch Notes.

We'll see what the new process is, but at least now there's a stay of execution : )
