I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but you're wrong. BDO is not doing better this year than any year prior, infact it's doing the worst, whether or not the player count is the lowest it's ever been: (which it most likely is) the fact is they are making less money now and generating less revenue. This is all public information btw, doing a little research goes a long way friend. *The money values are displayed in KRW (Korean Won)*

Its even worse than the bleeding on steam. I really hope this doesnt spiral into the same territory as xl games with archeage. The initial last bleed happend exactly at pvp changes this time with declarations :|

Edit: Just checked its the lowest its been since january 2018...

Crazy people make statements like this without bothering to do the tiniest bit of fact checking. if you averaged out the steam stats of BDO since release its currently sitting at a very high player count relative to the average.

Worst month BDO has had for steam as october 2018 and our average players this month is about twice as much.

People fucking hated how bdo USED TO BE in its early days. its much more popular now.

Stop spreading misiniformation.

And where is your evidence that BDO is "thriving"?

It's a fact that BDO is going downhill slowly nowadays.
If it was, J would've never apologyzed (but as a result it meant nothing in the end). And now node war changes are incoming, which will be obviously DOA, considering what KR players were doing on it.

Just to reference one of your other posts:

Oasis came during the time Covid "exploded" around the globe and now here's my guess on this:

Because the devs wanted to keep us occupied somehow in the game, while at home.

In general the market of video games was booming, because maaaany people (gamers even non-gamers) decided to get something new from the online stores to fill up their time. Not because "BDO was either good or a bad game".

So much for "how informed you are". When you're spreading the misinformation obviously.

Crimson Desert was already in Development back then. There is a clear downwards trend and it has to do with strategic failures. I am very confident that it has to do with loosing the core identity of the game while trying to attract new players and failing.

How you "feel" about the game is one point, but clearly no data on how they are doing.

What happened is the fact Pearl Abyss doesn't know where to go with game.
The only thing they know is what to do in  order to make money.

They told us they want new players by making the game beginner friendly  but they failed.
Game isn't  friendly. When you arrive, you're having  "fun" with season but you'll soon realise you need to prepare  the graduation by stacking  a max amount of money & mats, do all quests to unlock some features, do logs to min max your stats, find the good class for the content you want.

Then you start PVE and see the difference of money per spot, you see that many of them are useless, you also see that you have very limited amount of group spots which tells you'll pass most of your gameplay alone in marni room. You'll also see few classes being god in PVE when the rest is dead.

You  see that guilds are pointless, you just join  them to leech bosses & buffs. You also see that sociability is really bad on the game because players are here to ego check themselve in PVE,  lifeskill & PVP, "I did 2 debo neck this hour with XX K tokens haha I'm such a pro gamer".

And then when you start PVP, you realize game is truly unbalance, many classes are useless, only few chosen one by PA are made for it.  NWs,  especially T1 isn't friendly at all. Most guild you'll encounter are here with a min max classes compo, gear & elixirs. If you don't do like them you won't have any fun.

You'll also see gear progession is a nightmare. The fact you'll pass more time buying crons than success anything. You'll see no matter the gear you put on your fav, if you play the wrong one you just lost hours on devotion for nothing.

So yes, they failed. They decided to make game beginner friendly but failed by avoiding many important aspect.
They failed to make end game progression funny and rewarding.
They destroying open world PVP that they always preach during bals.
They made PVP a scripted contents by forcing us to play specific contents and classes to perform there.
They made most spots tasteless because they  give too much money or not, because they drop THE  acess you need or not.
They made treasures useless.
They made gear progression a nightmare by the omnipotence of crons due to the fact failed end game gear is an insane punishement.
They made the failed insanely punishing in order to make more money.

And in the end, they failed to  keep vets & new players who are tired of PA choices.

Absolutely this...
The irony is they can't see the inverse.. 20 people saying "HoW GrEaT BdO is"..
Even if you ignore the cash grabs and class imbalance, the NW/Siege play should be a crime.
Top tier PCs playing in potato mode can barely play without stutter and desync issues.

They shifted the game towards this PvE, carebear meme.
The only thing they got going for them is Amazon can't do anything but destroy games and no other modern studio cares about making pvp mmos. Cash grab after cash grab, with great trailers/advertising.

Black Desert no longer feels like the lively, exciting and fun MMORPG it used to be despite having received major Quality of Life updates over the past 6 months. What was once an adventure-filled sandbox is now rapidly decaying into a typical theme park MMORPG as convenience and security is favoured over quality and enjoyment. Key features of the original Black Desert have now been completely removed or heavily restricted to appease what seems to be a vocal minority, at least in the North American servers.

I no longer feel any excitement nor have any motivation to progress my character as there is no reason to. When I first started playing Black Desert, my main source of motivation to progress was to have the ability to defend myself and to defeat others in open-world PvP. My motivations grew as I became interested in Node Wars and Life Skills in order to build my very first Epheria Sailboat. However, those motivations have long been snuffed out due to the unexciting end-game, an experience that remains unchanged. What has changed is that the pace of progression towards end-game has been dramatically increased, making the journey uneventful.

MMORPGs are built for a community, they're intended to be played together with thousands of other people. Black Desert had quite a lively and engaged community in its first 5 years, however that's no longer the case. The majority of activites in the game have been redesigned to be completed alone or allow the player to isolate themselves from the outside world (e.g Marni's Realm). It is understandable that some players do not have the time or will to engage with other people online, however social interaction plays a huge role in MMORPGs. At the moment, Black Desert feels like an empty, lifeless husk that doesn't have a strong sense of culture or community.

I still log in to the game to check out events and to occasionally interact with others but overall, I consider myself to have quit the game. I've experienced all the content that exists that I consider enjoyable and worthwhile. New zones that require higher AP/DP are just a recycled experience with a higher bar of entry and PvP has been, in my opnion, completely shafted and neglected. Almost everything is instanced or restricted, there's no good reason to wander around the vast world of Black Desert anymore. It might as well be a lobby that has menu buttons to allow you to queue into every single activity in the game.

It's just extremely disappointing and sad to see a game that was once one of the most innovative, fun and exciting MMORPGs out there become one of the most monotonous, unfun and restrictive. When a game like World of Warcraft (released in 2004) is able to offer a generally more enjoyable experience with its multiple development hiccups, it means there's something really wrong happening here.

Fake stats based on the votes of fanatical followers of streamers.
There are 20-30 people actively participating in this forum, and suddenly there are 900 votes. It's totally not suspicious, not at all.

90% of those commenting on the quoted thread have: 1-10 comments (most of them only have 1 comment).

Are you ashamed of your account, you posting on the forum from a new one you created a few days ago?

I rarely use the fourm but a guildes would (often/time to time) post an important petition to this forum which I would come and leave an upvote.  Disappointed for you to assume everyone should have at least a donze posts/comments to be seens legit.
