I've been maining succession Lahn for quite a while but have been getting bored while grinding and rotating the same few skills so couldn't help but think that maybe I need a bit more variety going forward. I made an awakening Witch when they handed out the latest season ticket, got her to 60 the other day and have to say I really like her. She has a good set of skills (not too few, not too many), the AOEs are great and pack clear speed feels way higher than Lahn's. She's still pretty chill but at least I have 6-7 skills to use and not just 3-4. Mobility sucks a bit after Lahn but that's something I can get used to.

Currently the only decent item I have is a TET Blackstar main weapon from the free boxes that I haven't been able to get to PEN. The rest of the gear is boss gear of various quality and all in all my Lahn is currently at 276/269/333.

I haven't yet opened the free PEN Blackstar box that they gave us so I'm now wondering that if I do switch to the Witch, would it make sense for me to open the box on her and get the awakening weapon and then convert Lahn's main weapon to a staff? Or, ignoring the fact that my witch will be awakened, should I still pick a staff instead? Except then I would have two main hand weapons and I don't believe there is a way to convert one of them to an awakening weapon, is there?

What would be the most logical plan of action? Any help is appreciated!

In fact, to add to this - I'm torn between the awakening Witch and succession Corsair. The latter one also feels really great. I know people say that she's mid when it comes to grinding but being barely ready for Orcs it doesn't really matter to me.

So I guess another question would be - which class do you personally prefer - Witch or Corsair? Which one would you switch to?

The best choice for you would be to take the PEN awakening weapon. Not only will this give you the AP brackets for your awakening skills, but you still can use your crons / hammers on your mainhand and simply take your time with upgrading. 

By far witch. Succ Corsair isnt really "mid" while grinding, but rather "bad". Awakening witch is really very good, almost similar to succ lahn. Awa witch is generally also easier and has more utility. I would really recommend you choose witch, if you enjoy the class. If not, then just take corsair and dont care about anything I said, because enjoyment matters more than anything else.

Try tagging and copy gears. I switch between awk lahn and awk sorcerer for my grind duo. Helps with the mind numbing dull from one class. 

That's what I'm leaning towards - keep TET mainhand and get PEN awakening, hoping that one day that TET will go.

Appreciate the input! I do like the witch so I think I might start maining her and leave my corsair to be my sailor.

I actually did yesterday but now having read all the responses here I wonder - maybe I should open the PEN BS box and pick the awakening weapon on my lahn and tag the witch. That way I'll have PEN awakening and TET mainhand on both of them and then when I'm 100% set on switching I can just convert them both to witch weapons.

I'd lean towards the pen awk.

You better not have ANY plans of ever touching PvP side of things if you are going witch. She's good PvE class sure but for PvP it's more irrelevant than Shai, specially as awaken. In one vs one PvP you'll lose to every class ingame unless you heavily outgear them and in various mass-pvp you are just as irrelevant.

Nah, not interested in PvP at all so not an issue. 

As a Corsair main I can tell you that Succ is in the bad spot right now; both in PvE and PVP aspect of the game.

Awa is in a lot of better spot, but still compared to all other classes, somewhere in the middle.

However Corsair movement, skills and overall gameplay is sooo incredible fun and satisfying that I would recommend to tag and try it.

Maybe one day PA will buff fishy girl.
