I heard that during one of the recent Heidel Balls they released the average gear scores of the playerbase along with the top 5% and 1% GS. I can't seem to find this information... Does anyone remember seeing this? If so, could you provide a link?

That number was from last year, they gave out a ton of stuff in the past year, those numbers would be completely invalid.  When those numbers came out 650+ was 1% of the population IIRC, and 620+ was 5% of the population.  At the time I was less than 600 GS with no Pen items no Tet accessories, they gave out a bunch of stuff with the seasons and it catapulted everyone far beyond where the 5% was.

It doesnt matter, those are handpicked datasets, you cant trust it either way. No1 really can comprehend when and on what criteria they collected it. :/

People familiar with simple databases queries can. But you seem to have insider information about the process they used to get said information, so please share with everyone.

Yeah they didn't said what metric did they use, and it indeeded looked like BS, but it's ain't really matter, those was PR slides, and not supposed to have real meaning anyway.

Since 2018 we all know that you're obsessively hating on authority figures, however are you capable on producing any intelligent reason about why they would lie about playerbase average gear score and for what purpose.

And as I pointed out, everyone is now given 550 GS just for leveling to 61 and doing Journals.  Which means that 50% of the players on that list no longer exist in the current "metric" or if they do, they are dead accounts.
