Title of the thread. 4 classes in a row have shipped with a ranged grab in one of their kits. It doesn't matter if it isn't as fast as a melee grab. Grab is potentially the strongest cc in the game. Lacking range and protection is what makes them balanced vs other ccs, however. Going around those rules make them imbalanced. 

We have the skill set of Corsair Awakening yet ? Not seen a single skill that looks like a grab in the trailer.


Even anyway, I agree that the distant grab of the Sage awakening is too much. There is no justifiable, Class design reason that Sage awakening as grab at all.

Rewatch the new trailer. The skill used at 0:24-0:25 where it pulls in the mob is a ranged grab.

I think they should make the ranged grab even slower (Tho I don't think the ranged grab are slow at all) and uncancelable.
It could be like Thresh in League of Legends where it spins the hook a couple of times before throwing it

You can have a grab on new classes. Just don't make it ranged or protected outside the grapple animation. Heck, I think if they make a grapple animation protected, they need to remove the aoe cc effect you get from throwing the target on the ground. The point is that they keep giving new classes better grabs than old classes and it sucks.
