BDO doesn't have a subscription service.  To me, this is the biggest nullifier when it comes to my participation with other MMOs. I'm NOT saying that I'm always 100% satisfied with PA, but the fact that I paid for the game at launch and enjoy it still speaks volumes.  I've enjoyed the game so much, that I've spent additional money on in game purchases. The decision to do so is always bolstered by my continued enjoyment of the game and the lack of a subscription service.

I'm not knocking the subscription service model.  In fact, Square Enix seems to have the right tuning for the platform where MMOs are concerned. However, I haven't crossed the WoW or FF MMO threshholds BECAUSE of the subscription service model.

I also look to other development companies who appear to be killing the F2P/Cash Shop model.  Grinding Gear Games w/ Path of Exile comes to mind. Warframe even.

While not F2P, BDO offers a varitable cornicopia of MMO content for a very meager price tag. And lets be honest, BDO isn't an MMO for everyone.  The learning curve is steep, the grind is immeasurable, the combat lends itself to a more mechanically skilled player base, and the game engine has its notorious performance issues.  Warts and all though, BDO will retain its core player base.

I recently took a break from BDO, as we all do (or at least, should) from time to time.  I decided to pick up New World since it was on holiday special.  I have no complaints, its just... the game isn't Black Desert.  If anything, my time spent in New World has only expedited my return to BDO.  I''m currently running patch updates and can't wait to see what Sorc is up to with the class changes.

And knowing PA, I have little to no expectations. ;)

Also, if folks 'leave' BDO or take a break to check out a new MMO, that'll be more space for my weak ass to grind!!

Well, we live in 2022 now and it's February. Where was that so called exodus then. I didn't saw it. 

Another thread of just pure trolling regarding players. BDO is celebrating it's sixth anniversary soon. Over the course of years you always had people saying about BDO being a dead game, blabla, even in the gamechat this was a thing. And yet, it still lives and people just come back to it. Even new people are still coming. As it looks now BDO will easily live on for the next years and will be celebrating it's 10th anniversay in 2026. Just as Aion, TERA and WoW it's a strong IP which will live for years. Lost Ark won't change this. Ashes of Creation also not. 

BDO has earned it's place among the others. And you see that back in newer games, as they use parts of BDO. That means PA have done something good. For me that is also the case. The combat is one the strongest points of BDO and many people praise it. The extended character creation is also something you didn't saw before. The atmosphere and landscape is also good. Here are there are some areas which might worked out a bit more, like Valencia. The biggest problem of the game is just the community. But the game overall is fine. It's unique in it's own way and doesn't copy others. So all those doomsayers can spare themself by posting threads like this, cause it doesn't happen any time soon. It's just as rubbish as the so called end of world back in 2012.

but anyway they little cheat, for example when you click on their commercial in steam window, it automtically add in your steam library, it is how i fall in lost ark trap and get involuntary the game in my library ^_^

That's more or less the idea. BDO has its flaws like any game, but it also has many strength and right now, it still has a solid "niche" market. "Niche", because it looks like a pretty big niche XD

When I see LA raids, dungeons, instanced pvp... Well, it doesn't look like the same experience as BDO. I'm not even trying to say something bad about LA, not at all, that's simply different. 

If I want to say something bad about it, I'd simply say that the game is already banned in Belgium and Netherland. Just saying... 

Banned in those places because of boxes isnt it? Because BDO would have been had they not changed their version according to their laws? So that's not really anything bad😂 but LA as you said is completely different from bdo. They aren't the same at all and I agree. I quite enjoy LA myself tbh
