The worst part about DFS in this game is what it actually means, people use it to justify griefing you. If you win they claim you only won because of your class or gear and won't leave based on those BS excuese, if you lose they expect you to close out of the game not just change channels, if you decline the duel they take it as an offense and justify PKing you because you declined. What DFS actually means in this game is "I'm taking your spot by force in anyway I can no matter what the out come of the duel is even if I lose the duel". Last time someone asked me for a DFS and I delcined them they brought 20 people and they all started to try and feed me to mobs so my crystals would break. Last time I accept a DFS and won the duel the person called 10 people to kill me at spawn and war dec my guild. This game's community is beyond toxic it full of man children that like to convice themselves that they matter because they can grief someone else.

Idk why you have dislikes because its true what you said.🤣 anytime I encounter someone like that, I know they arent there to grind. they are there seeking attention. So I just ignore and switch servers and continue grinding. I refuse to give asshats my time.

OP is first complaining about being constantly being contested by others.  That they are being asked "Duel for Spot" left and right, by everyone and their mother.

>> Then proceeds to call BDO a "dead game". (???)

Color me confused.  If it were dead....wouldn't that mean you WOULDN'T get DFS requests?  Weird logic there mate.  BDO is a PvX MMO.  PvE and PvP are intertwined.  Easy to see.  I mean, you're literally complaining about PvX in this post (grinding mobs while dueling for spot).

OP, being asked "DFS" is the most common at contested spots.  How is this not figurable?  Think about it >> the spots that yield the best money per hour will be the most contested, again, shouldn't this be common sense?

If competing for resources at the spots with (naturally) the most competition, is troublesome for you, then the best you can do is grind on off-hours, as suggested here.  Or grind in spots that are less contested, which was also suggested here.  Both very good suggestions to soothe you of your ails.  You don't have to grind Bashims -- if you want to grind Sulfer, or even Orcs, there are numerous side rotations.  You could (potentially) earn more silver at a side rotation than main rotations, since chances for DFS are lower there than they already are.

>> BDO has so many channels and so many viable grind spots now -- Valencia is like 150 - 200 m an hour, Cadry's, Sulfer, even Crescent's is good now.  That's about the same amount of silver at Elvia Bandits, and Bandits is just one spot in Elvia.  The devs made this game so much more friendly, for vets and newbies alike.  Finding an open rotation is easier than ever now -- no longer is it "Sycria or Star's End", nor is it "Sausan's or Pirate's".  BDO has so many options for grind zones now and players are able to spread out more.  Like other posters here, I rarely encounter DFS, and when I do, it's always at Orcs or Bloody Monastary -- two of the top 5 best grind zones -- And only when I'm in the main rotations.  Side rotations, DFS never happens...quite literally, in fact.  I don't even remember the last time someone asked me DFS on a side rotation at any grind zone.

"DEAD GAME!!!  But also, too much DFS!!!"

TL:DR - BDO is a PvX Open World MMORPG.  Game is, like, 5 years old.  You should know this by now.  Don't step on people's toes (common sense) and you should be alright most times.  Toxic people exist (more common sense) but they're avoidable, just ignore the toxic people.  Or send a dec on their guild because GvG is fun :) Report function exists as well, in case you're being harrassed by ToS violators.  I get that DFS is too hard for some people to deal with.  But it doesn't always have to result in PvP --> diplomacy and social skills go a long way too (more common sense).  You may find more success grinding on off hours or at non/less-contested spots, since DFS is too hard for you to deal with successfully.

PS - After class reworks, BDO will be releasing PvP content.  Ranked arena is planned.

Okay. Honest question. Are you new to BDO?

The competition in the game is big. Players compete over various type of resources by any means. If you were not a new player, I expected you to figure it out yourself. There are players, who want to compete with other players for various reasons. If you want to lower the chance to get a "DFS" s-t or get ganked, try doing your stuff at non-peak hours or even better-consider grinding at places, where its not that popular. Even lower chance to find competition. But it won't be 100% empty all the time.

In this game and in every other game where there is a pvp element the goal was always to dominate over or outsmart the other in every way. In real life, this is also applied. "The strong flourish, while the weak perish." Natural law.

Why do you have the need to compare a G A M E to a stoneage law of nature? Its actually getting kindda stupid

What's next, you gonna justify murder by choking cos "the victim is too weak to fight back so they should perish"?

Dude this is 21st century, and this is freaking video game. The purpose is to make it fun

Now you defending this toxic atmosphere, you're contributing to the game dying, and it is actually draining population. Less and less players are playing and people can only argue "my high end grindspot is contested" to justify the game is booming. Freaking open ur eye and take a look at the other game content outside of elvia or sulfur mine. Other than no life grinders, everyone is gradually leaving the game or going afk hard. Nobody talk in group chats (and im basing it off dancing marlin+florin chat). BDO is in serious content draught and you defending"strOng bEaT wEaK" is just stupid. What are u gonna rule as an emperor if there is nobody to rule?

... Did you forget what kind of game you're playing at? BDO comes with owpvp, and precisely that's one of the things that can make it fun. But such a confrontation will necessarily mean that there will be winners and losers. And winners will often get a penalty so that they don't use their strength too often.

The stoneage law of nature you're mentioning is in fact a part of the game, and it is used by players. Did you never play the "bad guy" in any game in your whole life?

(and... A dying BDO... Do you know how many times we read that?)

There are some great places to grind that won't have anyone. There's half of a top plateau at Fogans that I've rarely seen people at. I think of all the times I went there, one person pestered me. There's another high area above Naga's main rotatation that is perfect for slower solo people and I've never had a single person there bother me for it because by the time I was back at the start, things were just beginning to spawn back in.

It just takes some exploring outside all the crowded main areas and also finding a server that isn't packed. That isn't difficult either.

I've played this game since beta and have had maybe 2 people say DFS

Okay lets see. There is technically only 6 spots available grinding orcs. That rest 3 are not counted as they are bad + need extra space for weapon buffs.

6x 15 elvia servers = 90 players.

Yea 90 players total = Not dead game LOL. Literally everywhere else in elvia its empty because they are all waste of time. I would never in my life use 100% other than orcs just like everyone else doing highend game.

Smart people already quit this game.
